Love a Duck

Happy Sunday.  Hope you are having a lovely day and the sun is shining where ever you may be.

It has been a very hectic month and I can't believe how quick July has come round!

We have been super busy again this weekend.  A 16 ton skip was delivered to my bungalow ready for us to put in all my rubbish, and bits from Jen's and the parent's houses.

The thing is it is almost full and all that's in it is what came out of my house!!  Not sure they're going to get all their stuff in!!!!

Last night I had to make a quick card as the one I was supposed to blog was sent to the recipient without me taking a photo - DOH!

I had a few sheets of 'proper' decoupage which has to be cut out with scissors :O  This came from the Crafters Companion Spring pack which I have eventually got round to buying.

I think this duck has such a sweet little face.  What do you think?

Birthday wishes

Good morning and happy Saturday. Hope you are all having a good weekend. We are having a final push this weekend to get rid of all the rubbish from the move in to a skip and all of the other stuff taken to the charity shop. Then hopefully we can get back to some sort of "normality" ha, like that's ever going to happen in our house lol.

Today's card is one I made for my daughter in law from her boys :-)).

I started with the image which is a Besties digi stamp called mom and her boys. I coloured it with flexmarkers and then mounted it on to pink Core-dinations card.

I really like the backing papers. These were free in a magazine and the whole booklet is lovely. The pinks and blues just went lovely with the image.

I matted them with more Core-dinations card and then added them to a 6x6 scalloped edge card blank.

I finished the card by making up the flower from different bits of stash and then making up a simple sentiment with peel offs.

Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by today. See you soon.

Celebrations galore

It's Friiiiiidaaaaaay! Yeah!!

At last the weekend is here and once today is over I have a week's leave to enjoy lol :) I try not to work the first week of July as it is my birthday and I loathe having to work it when I should be being spoilt ;)

Anyway I started yesterday off well with a triple caramel frappucino at St*****ks (yum), a new pair of shoes at lunch time (luuurrrves me some new shoes).............

.........and a fabulous chinese restaurant visit in the evening.
I know how to live :) Anyone would think yesterday was my birthday.

Today is the birthday of Vicky (Jen's 'daughter-in-law') who is 26 (and who's card I shared on Wednesday).  We will have a bit of a celebration to mark it when she and the boys next visit, but the chinese meal was for us to celebrate with Jen's son, Daniel, who is 22 today.  The restaurant was his choice and we all enjoyed some lovely food in great company.  On Sunday he and his girlfriend Staci, are off to Thailand for 2 weeks, so it was also a chance to spend some time with them before they leave.

My card is the one I made for him. This is a selection of papers from the Papermania neutrals pack, matted and layered with snow white centura pearl and two Kanban toppers.

I matted the second topper on a triple layer card which sits in a pocket on front of the main card. A few burnt umber pearl embellishments and it was all done.

I really like the simplicity and hope you do too.

A card at last!

Good morning all, hope you are well today. I have finally found a bit of time to make a card yippee! and it's about time, as we have 3 birthdays this weekend! My son, daughter in law and nephew. 2 on the 28th and the other on the 29th. So it's time to get crafty again lol.

Today I thought I'd share one of the male cards I've made.

I started with a 6x6 plain Kraft card blank and covered it with a blue spotty distressed paper from the Wellington paper pack, matted on to brown core-dinations card.

I layered another of the papers over one side again matted on to brown card. Then I used a darker piece of brown card to cut a frame and shape with the Opulent Ovals Spellbinders die set.

I mounted this on to the front of the card and raised the frame with foam pads. Then I added the wellington sticker in to the frame and finished the card with a couple of ready made sentiments.

It's a really quick and simple card but hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

Even more stash! AND a card!! [Image heavy]

Happy Wednesday! [or hump day as it's affectionately known]
The middle of the week and as far from the weekend as you can get.  Booooooo ;)

Last night I dragged this..................

.......into the craft room to unpack.  This is what came out of it!!!!

I'd actually forgotten I had some of this\0/
I think we should seriously consider whether we need to buy anything again this year!

So on to the card.
I made this for my niece who will be 26 this weekend.
The bear came from a pre-printed set which I coloured in neutral shades with flex markers.
The matt and layer is a hexagonal Spellbinder die.
The sentiment stamp was a freebie from a magazine.
The buttons and papers are from my stash.  You can't see very well but the rolled flowers are made with the pink floral paper.
Hope you like it.

Beads and bangles

Good morning, hope you are well today. As Jude said yesterday we are still busy merging the two craft rooms, but I have been able to grab a little bit of time and space to do some beading :o))

My son and his girlfriend are off to Thailand for a couple of weeks soon, so I have been making Staci some jewellery to take with her.

Every time she comes round she has a look at my bead collection falls in love with more beads, and puts in another order lol. But I love making them, and it's fun to make for other people.

She has gone for some classic styles and then some more fun beads, well when your only 22 you can can't you? lol.

There are some really lovely colours around for beading, so you have to give them all a try lol.

Hope you like them too, thanks for stopping by today.

See you soon

Craft Room Update

Good morning all!  Yes I'm back in the world again having been between abodes for the last few days, without proper access to my craft cave or study!

Leaving my old house hasn't been as big a wrench as I thought it would be.  In fact I've settled quite nicely in with Jen and Alan.  The cats are certainly at home although they still aren't brave enough to venture far from the craft room.

Over the last couple of days we've made a few changes in there.  The glass table from my kitchen is now an extra workspace and fits well into the room.

Alan has added a couple of shelves to start moving some of the newest additions up off the floor so we can actually get in there to craft! In fact I made a card last night for my niece whose birthday is next weekend. She shares it with Jen's son Daniel, and the day after is my son Edward's birthday, so lots of cards HAVE to be made this week lol.

We are all back to work tomorrow so we will be spending a few evenings this week finishing clearing the bungalow and unpacking the bags, boxes and suitcases which seem to be multiplying every day.
There is still alot to do as the whole house is over run but at least we are getting there -
s-l-o-w-l-y!!

Here are a couple more shots of the stash merger and once we are finished we'll share how it looks.

Weekend Report

Good morning, hope you are all well today. Well Jude and K did an amazing job doing the Race for Life yesterday. They had set themselves a target of 1 hour (as it's only 10 weeks since Jude tore her Achilles tendon!) and they did it in just under an hour :o))

We grabbed them just after they crossed the finish line for a quick pic, they took Rosie Lee on the walk with them and she was as good as gold. If anyone would like to donate a few pennies the link is here:

Once they had got their medals we made them stand for more pics lol.

and little Ronnie dog didn't want to be left out as he was being as good as gold too, (and as cute as a button lol).

Anyway, I'm afraid still no crafting but hopefully we will get a little time, and space, today, fingers crossed.

Thank you for stopping by, see you soon.

No Cards, Cakes or Crafts, just CATastrophes!!!!!!!

Good morning all, hope the sun is shining where you are. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather today as Jude and my daughter K are doing the Race For Life this afternoon ;-)) So if it's fine I will take my granddaughters and grand puppy! over to cheer them on lol.

Well as you all know we have spent the best part of this week moving Jude from her house to live with me and my husband Alan in ours. What I don't think we've said is that the move includes two cats too! Well we bit the bullet and moved them on Thursday straight in to the study/craftroom that my two cats call home!

As of the time of writing this post there hasn't been any fighting lol but there is a lot of hiding going on. Mainly from my big tabby cat (Tigger), who I think now being the only male in a house of three female cats and a female dog is feeling a bit ganged up on ROFL.....

Anyway there hasn't been any time for crafting so I thought I would show you how the cats are getting on.

The two newcomers Cocoa and Ebony have been a little reluctant to come out of the room. They are still very unsure about Molly dog (although Molly is the gentlest dog you could ever hope for, and is brilliant with cats). But they did decide to have a little venture out of the window.....

This is queen Cocoa :-) she is in the running for the fattest cat in England I think, but anyway she was trying to decide whether to go out or not.???

Eventually she decided to go but kept checking back to make sure we were OK with it lol.

and then both Cocoa and Ebony made it as far as the bins ha ha ha. Since I took these pics, Ebony has been a bit braver and gone around the garden, but Cocoa has decided that inside is much better for now. Ah bless, I'm sure they will settle in and sort out the pecking order between them (that's if my cats will ever go back in the study again!) It's a pity that cats don't remember family as Cocoa is mummy to my two cats :o)) and believe me apart from Tigger's colouring they are very alike lol.

Right I shall leave it there, sorry for rambling today. Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

Happy Friday

Good morning, hope you are all having a good week. We are all absolutely shattered after moving Jude over the last few days. But at least the majority is done now and she has the essentials in her new bedroom. Still a lot of sorting and finding places for things to do but we'll get there.

Today's card is one a friend asked for. I was told the little girl liked ponies so I checked through all of mine and Jude's stamps and digi images but couldn't find any ponies! So I had to make do with a rocking horse. But it did come with a new Gorjuss stamp so I thought it would do lol.

I coloured the image with promarkers and then cut it out with the opulent ovals die. I cut a mat for it out of pink paper and then layered this with card, paper and doilies onto a 6x6 card blank.

I added some pink and blue flowers from my stash and tied a bow from some pink spotty ribbon.

I added the little girls name with some alphabet beads threaded on to beading wire and then added a horse charm to the end.

Anyway that's all from me today. Hope you like the card. Thanks for stopping by today, see you soon.
