Happy 40th

Good morning everyone, I thought we would have a little break from the male cards today, so today's card is one I made for a friend to send to her sister on her 40th birthday.

She didn't want anything too girly but had seen a card I did before with the pearls and asked for something similar.

This time I went with a black and white theme with blue accents. I started by embossing some white Centura Pearl card with the Sue Wilson Entwined Hearts embossing folder.

I cut this out with a scalloped square die and then matted it with black card. Then I used the same card to cut a smaller oval shape to go on the front to hold the numbers.

I matted everything with black card and used stick on numbers for the 40. I stamped the first part of the sentiment and then used a word die for the Sister and cut it from blue Centura Pearl card.

Then I went to work with the pearls, and used half white and half pale blue. Then I finished the card with a tiny white bow in the centre.

Hope you like it.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy Birthday number cards

Happy Sunday readers.  Hope you've had a good weekend so far.

Today my eldest son is 24, so Happy Birthday Ted!

As I had so many cards to make for this weekend I decided to double up on the boys cards.

I used the same concept and layout for the cards but just changed one item.  In this case the ages.

I think these are simple but effective cards for any man, whatever his age.

This one was for Daniel's birthday yesterday.

Hope you like them.  TTFN Jude xx

Happy birthday D

Good morning, today is my son's birthday, he will be 23 years young. I have to say young, as he is now convinced that 23 is old and so wants to stay at 22!. I've told him that means there is no hope for the rest of us then ROFL. So happy birthday D xx

Anyway this is one of the cards I have made for him from his uncle.

I used some bottle caps that I had asked people to save for me, and stuck them on with silicone glue.

The beer bottles are stamps from the Camden Town collection by Crafters Companion.

I stamped them onto pale brown card and then coloured them with Spectrum Noirs. I stamped them twice each and cut them out with scissors and then decoupaged them with foam pads.

Then I added chip board letters to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy birthday Vicky

It's me again, back from London and looking forward to a meal out tonight.  We are starting the birthday celebrations a little early ;)

This card is one I made for Vicky.  She is 26 tomorrow and still looks like a teenager!  It is totally unfair lol.

This image is yet another Saturated Canary, coloured with pro and flex markers.  I can see real improvement in my colouring just in the last few weeks.  I'll have to look out some of the early attempts and compare them.  Scary thought!!

I stuck to a limited colour scheme with this and went for extra embellishments.  A flower, scroll and rosette........

.........then a paper rose.

I like how this came together.

Scrabble Board

Good Morning all, hope you are all well. Today's post is another of my Scrabble name frames, but a little bit different.

This time I used the Scrabble board too! lol.

I made this one for a friend of my daughter's, but as she wanted 6 names on it I thought I would see what they looked like on the Scrabble board.

I had to cut the board down to get it to fit a 12 x 12 frame. But I think it looks good.

And Louise loved it, so hope you like it too.

Take care, and I'll see you soon.

Very simple

Hello again.

This weekend we have three family birthdays - 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday!

Out of necessity some of the cards have been very simple, like this one.  I like CAS cards as they can be made in a hurry :)

I took coordinating papers and cut them in to banners.  I then attached them to a 6 x 6 kraft card blank, ensuring they were at different heights and over lapped each other.  It is a very easy layout and can use up some of those scraps we all love to save (just in case) lol.

So that's it for me today as I'm off to London until tomorrow evening - it's work unfortunately.  Anyway I'll catch you soon, TTFN Jude xx

Colour me Purple!!!

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is one I made for Mum for her birthday the other week, but haven't yet posted.

The image is Colour me Wonderful from Saturated Canary, and I decided to colour her in mainly purples.

I coloured her with Promarkers and then cut her out with a plain circle die.

The paper is from the stash but I'm not sure what collection it's from as I've had it for ages.

I used some lace, ribbon and trim for the bottom, then added some lilac and purple flowers.

Then I used a chipboard Mum and coloured it purple to match the card, then went over it with a silver glitter pen for a bit of sparkle.

Hope you like it.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Pirate Ben

Happy Monday folks.  Hope you've had a relaxing weekend.

Today my brother's youngest god-son is celebrating his fourth birthday.  Happy birthday Ben!!

This is the card I have made to send to him.

The image is from Lili of the Valley matted on pale blue cardstock.  I then found a stripy blue paper for the background, because pirates ALWAYS have a stripy blue shirt lol ;-)

I didn't have a blue number four, so I coloured a white one with a dark blue Spectrum Noir.

I tied a piece of blue spotty ribbon across the middle and called it finished.  Hope you like it.

From one little bead.....

A whole jewellery collection has grown. Lol. Good morning all, hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I probably should explain that first sentence. I had one dark blue bead that I really liked but didn't really have any others that went with it. So I asked Jude very nicely if she would pop in to John Lewis on her lunch break and have a look for some coordinating beads.

(sorry for the rubbish photo, I could not get the camera to focus on the one bead!)

They didn't have many but what they did have were gorgeous so I have ended up being able to make 2 bracelets. 3 pairs of earrings, 1 pendant and a necklace.

Aren't they just gorgeous? This is my bracelet.

And this one is Jude's.

Then a couple of the earrings.

My pendant.

And Jude's necklace.

Hope you like them too.

See you soon. Take care.

My valentine

Hello lovely peeps.  Yes I know it's not 14th February but this image is called My Valentine.

I've been practising hard with my colouring and with this image everything just seemed to go right.  It's not perfect and I still need to keep up the practice but it's a definite improvement on my early work!

I used Dear Lizzy papers for the background, punched the hearts from coredinations card, and added stickers from the Madame Payraud collection.

I then used some mid green pearls in two corners to finish off my card.

What do you think?  Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
