Stars

Good afternoon all, sorry the blog post is late today. I haven't been feeling too good and it totally slipped my mind last night to get it ready for this morning lol. Anyway better late than never, hopefully.

Today's card is one I made for Alan's birthday last week from our son and daughter in law. I used a WPlus9 stamp set called Lucky Stars for the main sentiment. But instead of it saying Friend, I masked this bit off so it didn't stamp. Then I added the Dad in from a Crafters Companion Sentimentals set.

I punched the stars from different coloured card and then arranged them around the sentiment. Then I gave them all a coat of glossy accents for a bit of shine.

I added the stamped panel to a silver 7 x 5 card blank,

and then, to finish the card off I just added a few stamped stars from the WPlus9 set, stamped in Paris Dusk Dew Drop ink.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Get well

I don't often make get well cards, however my aunt has recently had a heart operation.  I made a card for her from us all.

This is a simple composition made with die cuts and punches.

I used a flourish die as the vines and layered two different sized flowers together.  I also added a couple of butterflies, some Ranger liquid pearls to the flower centres and more pearl dots randomly across the card front.

This sentiment has finally had it's first airing.  It is from my favourite Lawn Fawn scripty sayings set.

I hope you like it.  I know my aunt did.

Get well soon Sheila.

Birthday girl

Good morning crafty friends, hope you are having a good week. We are back from the Lakes and have been celebrating Alan's birthday with meals out etc. but now it's back to normal and back to work for Alan. I'm not back until Tuesday as it's a bank holiday on Monday here in the UK.

Today's card is one I made a few weeks ago now, but never got around to sharing it. I used the Lawn Fawn Finlay's ABC's dies to cut the Sister from turquoise polka dot card stock.

Then I used an MFT die to cut the pierced strip for the word to sit on. I then stamped underneath this with a Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings stamp, using Jet Black Archival ink.

The image is from a Lili of the Valley Artpad and I cut her out by hand. Then I added her to the edge of the card front, so it looks like she is walking on to the ledge.

I layered the front on to another piece of the polka dot card and then added it all to a 7 x 5 card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Party Animals

Happy birthday for yesterday Alan!

Today I have the first of the cards I made to share with you.

These adorable creatures are from one of our latest Lawn Fawn purchases.  The stamp and die set are called Party Animal.

In the set are a few little accessories which you can make to look as if the animals are holding them.  They are quite fiddly to work with, but they just add something to the finished effect.

The background is cut from yellow paper, using a die from My Favourite Things, which is then layered on a blue denim effect paper.

I cut the sentiment twice for depth, using sticky backed cardstock.

Hope you like it.

Panda love

Good morning all, I am away in the Lake District for a couple of days, so I'm hoping this post goes live as planned. Today is my hubby's birthday, hence the short break away, and this is the card I have made for him. Hope you have a great birthday love xxxx

I used the Mama Elephant set - Pandamonium, and stamped them with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I used the matching dies to cut out the pandas and then raised them on foam pads on to a couple of layers of MFT Stitched Squares.

I then stamped the sentiment and heart above them. The heart was stamped with Ladybug Dew Drop Ink.

The spotty paper is from a Dovecraft Monochrome Back to Basics set and I teamed it with the bright red card.

I used the Husband sentiment from a Crafters Companion Sentimentals - Male set and the other two sentiments, one on the outside and one on the inside are from an Avery Elle set called Handwritten Notes.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Mirror Mirror

Today I have the last of Keira's birthday cards to share with you.

This one was made for her parents to give to her.

The image is from another of the Lili of the Valley art pads.

I chose shades of red to match the colours in the topper, then added a simple sentiment.

Hope you like it.

Foxy Shaker Card

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is the one I made to send to my great niece Keira Grace for her birthday on Wednesday.

I used the new Party Animals set from Lawn Fawn for the fox, birds and balloons, and coloured them all with Copic markers.

I added Glossy Accents to the balloons to give them a bit of shine.

The toadstool paper is from a Studio Calico Kit, and I thought it went nice with the animals.

I used the pocket shaker card technique again. This time cutting down a CD wallet to fit behind my arched aperture. I stuck the cut sides of the wallet together with my tape runner and filled it with sequins from a Studio Calico set.

I used plain white card for the front and then used an MFT Dienamics shape to cut out the arch.

The Happy Birthday is stamped with an old wooden stamp that is still one of my favourites and still gets used all of the time.

I put it all together on a 6 x 6 blank card base and then added the number 4 to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Hippo Birdie

Hi folks.  Jude again with another of Keira's birthday cards.

I love this little Lawn Fawn stamp and die set.

I cut the images and layered them on white and red card, which I cut with stitched squares dies from  MFT.

Aren't they so cute!?

I love the play on words of the sentiment.

A very simple little card but so quick and easy.

Keira Grace

Good morning world.  How are you today?

We are having a big birthday tea party this afternoon to celebrate my beautiful granddaughter Keira.  Four years ago today my daughter and her husband were blessed with a little bundle of red faced, screaming wonderfulness, that has grown into a gorgeous, dark eyed, dark haired beauty.  I couldn't be prouder of this special little girl, and how she has handled the arrival of her baby sister.  Today at least I get to spoil her and show her how much I love her.

Happy birthday Keira Grace!

This is the card I am giving to her.

The sentiment is the main focus and I stuck to a simple colour scheme.

Hope you like it!

Big Sister

Hello crafty friends.  Today I have the first of my granddaughter's birthday cards to share.  Tomorrow Keira Grace will be four years old!

This card is from her baby sister, Charlotte Rose.

I used some baby animals from a couple of different stamp sets and set them on a plain white background.

I raised the panel on some foam tape and used a pink card blank.

I coloured them in shades of pink and purple using Copic markers.

I then used some of our smaller dies to cut the sister and number 4 from dark pink card.

I love these cute little bunnies, and as the girls are called Warren, I thought them quite appropriate.

So that's her first card finished.

Hope you like it.
