Simple style

Thank you for being with us today.
This card is another made with the My Monthly Hero September kit.

I enjoy using these sets especially to try new ideas.  However sometimes, simple is best.

I embossed three of the images from the set and coloured them with Copic markers.  I cut slits in the saucer and vase so I could fit them together to create my floral display.

I used the circle cut from the orange base I did in my card on Monday and added a sentiment from the set.
I then added my image using some foam to give it a little dimension.

Hope you like it.

The cutest couple

Hello again.
My card today uses another pre-printed image from Lili of the Valley.

This time I coloured the image with Copic markers to intensify the original colours.  I love how this changes the image.

I used a large oval die to cut out the image and added a simple sentiment.  I then ran a Copic around the edge of the shape for a little definition.

I continued this on the inside with an anniversary greeting.

To add some interest I cut three strips of co-ordinating card and adhered them flat to the card base.

Sending you a latte love

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card was made for my niece's anniversary last week. I love stamp sets that are versatile.

This card is made using the August 2018 My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts. I stamped my images on to white linen card using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and then coloured them with Copic Markers.

I used the coordinating dies to cut the cups out, and then did the background. For this I took some of the smaller stamps from the set and stamped them with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Ink, Barely Beige and Khaki Simon Says Stamp Dye inks, onto Kraft card.

I cut the background out with a large Stitched Square die, and put this onto a 5 x 5 white note card.

After arranging my cups on the front, I stuck them down with glue and foam tape for dimension.

Then I white heat embossed one of the sentiments onto dark brown card, and placed it on the bottom of the front panel to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Chinese lanterns

Welcome friends.  Thank you for joining us today.

My card for today is made using the September My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts.  This one is autumn themed.

I stamped and coloured one of the Chinese lantern branches and a vase with Copic markers.  I cut a slit in the vase to push the branch through so it looks like it is in the vase.

The sentiment is from the same set and was supposed to be embossed in black on the card panel.  Unfortunately I smudged it and had to cover up the mistake.

I used a large circle die to cut out the panel and added the vase to the opening.  I finished of with lots (and lots) of onyx pearl drops.

Anniversary Giraffes

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week, and are looking forward to a crafty weekend.

Yesterday was my niece and her husband's fourth wedding anniversary, and this is one of the cards I made for them.

I used my Silhouette Studio software to design the card, which I then printed with the laser printer and foiled using the Minc machine.

I love how versatile the cut images are on this software. This was an elephant and giraffe cut file that I bought ages ago. But because of the software, you can use just certain elements from them.

So for this one I just kept the Giraffe fill image, which I then duplicated and mirrored, so that they could be nose to nose.

When I'm doing this I change my images line colour and fill colour to black, so that when I print it on the laser printer I get a really nice dark image to foil. Then It's just a case of picking the foil colours I want. This time I used Rose Gold Heidi Swapp Foil, and Red Deco Foil.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Feliz Aniversario

Hello friends.
Today is my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary.  This is the card I took with us to Spain to give to them.

I started by scoring lines in the centre of a white panel.  I turned this over to give and embossed look to the background.
To this I added a coloured flower and leaves from my stash.  These are from Altenew.

The sentiment is from a set free with Creative Stamping magazine.  I then added two heart from the same set.
I added some Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to them using Midas Touch and Clear on the flower.

I matted the panel on to some gold mirror card before adhering the flower.  I used fun foam behind the square for some dimension.

I'm pleased with this clean and simple card.  It is something I struggle with and I really wanted to add some more gold accents but I didn't, lol.

Have a Whale of a time

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far. Yesterday was my son-in-law's birthday, and this is one of the cards I made for him.

I used the stamp and die set that came with Issue 160 of Papercraft Essentials magazine. I stamped the main image with Onyx Black Versafine Ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers and then cut it out with an MFT Stamps Zig-Zag Stitched Circle die.

I stamped and coloured the whale tail, and then cut a slit into the background image so that I could slip the tail behind to make it look like it was coming from the sea.

I stamped the main sentiment on to the front panel, and then added the rest of the sentiment on to the internal liner.

I added the circle and front panel to a navy blue note card using foam tape. Then I added Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the sun, sea and whales tail for a bit of shine.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Swinging By

Hello and welcome.
As of today all my posts are pre-scheduled as I am on holiday with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters.  I am leaving you in Jen's very capable hands, but I think she would rather be coming with me!

Today is Jen's son-in-law Ian's 34th birthday, so Happy Birthday Ian!

When I need a quick card I often rely on these (very old) pre-printed images from Lili of the Valley.  We have quite a few sets but I don't think they make them any more.
I often adapt these by colouring over the printed colours or building a scene around them, but this time I left it alone.

I cut the image down and used a piece of black textured card as the background.  I then added a simple sentiment to the bottom of the panel before sticking it all to a navy blue card blank.

An easy card idea for when you need to produce something quickly!

Hope you perk up soon

Good morning all, and happy Monday. I hope you have all had a good weekend.

Today's card is one I made during a play session with the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for August 2018. I wanted to make a get well card for my daughter-in-law, who recently had surgery, and she's a huge coffee lover, so this fit the bill perfectly lol.

I stamped the cups on to plain white and textured white cards, and coloured them with Copic Markers. Then I cut them and the steam out with their matching dies.

I stencilled a 5 x 5 card blank with a coffee bean stencil that came with Issue 177 of Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine, using Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. Then I cut out a circle using an MFT Stamps Zig-Zag Stitched Circle die, and woodgrain paper, to represent a table top.

I used a sentiment from the same magazine stamp set as the background stencil, and white heat embossed it onto black card.

Then I added my 'table top' and mugs using foam tape, and then finished it off with a tiny puffy heart sticker.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Man stripes

Hello again and happy Friday.
Hope you've had a good week.

My card for today is a very simple masculine card.  For this I used the Simon Says Stamp Brush strokes set from the November 2017 card kit.

I stamped the image three times in memento ink.  I used the lightest colour to stamp a solid banner on which I white embossed the birthday sentiment.

The happy is made of four layers of card stamped with the blue ink and clear embossed.

To finish off I added the panel to a desert storm card base and added some candy in complimentary colours.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
