Key Box

Happy Monday everyone.  I'm off to London this morning for work so no crafty time for me today - Boo Hoo!

Over the weekend I eventually finished the key box I started a few weeks ago.

If you remember it looked like this....

Then I added some white paint to get this.... 

After a bit of sanding and distressing I covered the door with some green spotted paper and added a trim.  These were dulled with a little Scattered Straw distress ink.

 

Jen then helped out by printing and cutting some owl  stickers for me.  She's finally getting some use from her Silhouette lol. 

Once the owls and a backing paper were added I screwed the door knob back on and VOILA!

I hope Kay and Ian will love it as it is going in their hallway.

Happy Monday

Good morning and happy bank holiday Monday (in the UK) lol. I do hope you are all enjoying the long weekend. As you know it was Alan's birthday yesterday and we had a lovely day, with most of the family round and some good food etc. The sun even stayed out for us so we were able to make use of the newly finished patio and decking in the garden :o))

 

Today's card is the one I made for Alan. It's a really simple card but I liked it, and I'm happy to say so did he.

 

 

I drew the sentiment on my Silhouette Cameo using a metallic pen and white Centura Pearl card, then offset it and cut it out with the blade.

 

I coloured some of the words with a red Promarker, edged it with Black Soot Distress Ink and matted it on to some black Centura Pearl card.

 

 

I used a piece of fabric covered paper to cover the card blank and finished it with a small decorative brad. Like I said really simple, but effective. Hope you like it too.

'Owl' together now.....................

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Alan, Happy Birthday to you!"

Morning crafters it's Jude with you again.  Today is Alan's birthday (Jen's husband) so we are having a family lunch later today.  Unfortunately his grandson's can't join us this weekend but hopefully they can make up for it when he and Jen go to visit next week for Bailey's first day of  school.

 

 I thought today that I'd share the card I've made for him from Mum and Dad.

The background silhouette was cut by Jen on the Cameo as a trial.  I really liked it, so I based this whole card around the design.

Behind the image is a sheet of Hunkydory paper from the Autumn collection 2012, which I have inked to darken down.  I thought the cottage in the background added something to the scene.

The owl was cut from various different cardstocks all in the brown and gold range.  The cardstock image he is perched on is another of the Hunkydory set.

 

I hope Alan will like his cards, and I'll share more of them later in the week.
