Be Happy

Welcome one and all.  Hope you are having a good week.

My card today uses a La La Land Crafts digi, Singing Marci.  I've used her before but I think she is such a versatile image.

I used brownish reds and pinks for this version.  The patterned paper is from a collection called Hazy Days.

These little embellishments are from a new die set.  This is My Favourite Things Blueprints #11.

The butterflies are a Tim Holtz on the edge die.  I cut two colours and layered them up.

Happy Sunday everyone!

We have been away this weekend for Alan's birthday, so I haven't made a card that I can share.  Instead I thought I'd try to inspire all the would be colourists amongst you.

A few months ago I hadn't done any proper colouring since I was a child.  Then I discovered what you can do with alcohol markers if you practice - a lot!!

What do you think?

I've used both Copics and Promarkers on these. 

This one is totally Promarkers.

And this is all Copics! (Excuse the smudge, my pen leaked!!)

For comparison I will share one of my early attempts, that I was happy with at the time lol.

I think I've improved, what about you??

"La la, la la la la"

 Happy Sunday everyone.

Today I have a card featuring Singing Marci from La La Land Crafts.  Jen used the same digi a few days ago but I thought I'd show you a different colour scheme for her.

Marci is coloured with Copics and Promarkers, then cut out by hand.

This feather bunting was silver when I bought it.  I changed the colour with Distress stains and paints.

The flower is made up of layers of burlap with feathers, a large black paper flower and small ready made roses.

I layered several papers, die cutting some for interest.

Singing Marci

Good morning all, hope you are well. 

Today's card is made using the other of our new La La Land Crafts digi stamps. This one is Singing Marci. 

I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs and then cut her out and rounded the corners. 

I decided to stick with the blue for the papers, so chose some coordinating ones from different collections. 

I used a couple of white paper doilies in the layers, and a piece of blue material cut using a Tonic die backed with double sided adhesive. 

I added the Noir butterfly die cut to the side, 

and then added more material flower shapes and some paper flowers to the top. Then I added a little clear butterfly in with the flowers.

Finally I finished it off with a tag, sentiment and little pearl decoration. 

I am definitely struggling in the old mojo department at the minute, this card took me over two hours to put together. And that was after the colouring! lol.
