Happy Birthday Fishes

Good morning all, I'm back again with one of my Crafty Magazine Makes, using the underwater theme from Issue 36 of Die-Cutting Essentials magazine.

I used Adirondack, and Ranger Alcohol Inks to create the watery background, and then cut it out with the fish bowl die from the set.

Then I cut the bowl another twice, once from blue card and then from acetate, so that I could layer them together.

The little fish and other images are included in the set and I just used scraps of card to cut them with.

The Birthday Fishes sentiment is part of the set, and I added an Avery Elle Die-Cut Happy, using their Modern Alpha Die Set.

I hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday Fishes

Good morning all I Hope you are having a good week. Today's card was made using issue 36 of Die Cutting Essentials magazine.

I started with the background and used Alcohol Inks and a felt blender to swipe different shades of blue across glossy photo paper. I also added in a little touch of Silver Mixative, to give it a bit of shine.

Then once the panel was dry I cut a circle using a Zig Zag Stitched Circle die from MFT Stamps.

I had a great time die-cutting loads of the sea critters, shells, starfish, and seaweed out of different scraps of card, and then basing my design on one of the ideas in the magazine, I came up with this.

Don't you just love those colours? I love playing with alcohol inks, and think the effect really suits water based themes.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you like the card, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday boy

Morning and happy Saturday.  It's about time the weekend showed up.  There is definitely too much week!
My card today is one I made for Jen's youngest grandchild Bailey.  He is 5 tomorrow but he had his birthday party yesterday.  My daughter Catherine went down to Runcorn for the party with her daughter and niece.  They had a fabulous time.  We are having his family birthday party next weekend just ahead of Jen's birthday.
The image is Best Buds which I think I used on one of his cards last year! Oh well I'm sure he won't mind;)  The image was coloured with Promarkers then layered on red card from our stash and papers from the Docrafts 'Ahoy There' paper pack.
I added a Tonic star punch border to the right hand edge.
A number 5 and a sentiment complete this effective but relatively simple design.
Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
