Bouquet of love

As I said earlier in the week, making cards for another crafter can be quite challenging.  Throw in a lack of mojo and half a dozen cards to be made, and you soon realise you need help!  The solution was to use sketches or magazines to try and come up with something respectable.  When the card you make is for an adult child to give a parent, then you have to put a little more effort in.  This card is what I came up with for Jen's son Daniel, and his girlfriend Staci, to give her.

 I based the 8 x 8 card on a layout in issue 121 of Quick Cards Made Easy. 

 The ready made topper came with matching background paper which I have used on the layers with purple cardstock mats. The  floral set is from Hunkydory again.

I made a bunch of flowers from different paper ones in our stash which pick out some of the pinker tones. 

 A purple organza ribbon and bow were topped with a matching button.

Flower power

On Wednesday it will be Jen's 44th birthday. I won't tell you she will be 44 as she thinks 44 is old! (What? Oh dear, did I give it away? 😉)

When you share a craft room it is very difficult to make something without the other person seeing it. That's why making cards for Jen has been rather difficult.  I keep sneaking away to make something without her seeing!  I'm having a few mojo problems at the same time so I've had to resort to stealing copying ideas from magazines.

 

Obviously I can't show you what I'm making for Jen so I'm having to make twice as many cards.  I have to have something to blog but also need to make sure she doesn't see her cards before the day!  This is what I came up. What do you think? 

 I took the background papers from one pack and mixed them with a topper from another sheet to make this simple card.

 I layered both papers with a matte silver card before adding ribbon, flowers and a butterfly.

Fairy teacups

Good morning and welcome to Monday :)

 

Yes folks it's me again.  As Jen covered for me on Saturday due to my reckless gallivanting (lol) you are stuck with me two days together.  What did you do wrong? :)

 

My cards today are from my slowly dwindling Hunkydory stash.  These ones were a freebie with project magazine no10 and are fairies.  I used a couple of the toppers on cards I posted early last week.

 

These are die cut already into fluted circles so all I had to do was add sticky pads to the backs.  I used a single layer for the outer circle and a double layer for the inner.

 

Down the left hand side of the cards I used mirror card punched with a Tonic punch and a layer of co-ordinating card.  These were then layered on a 6x6 card blank and wrapped with organza ribbon.
