Winter Wishes

Good morning all and happy Tuesday. Hope you are all having a good start to the week. 

Today's card is made using a Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments die. 

I cut the largest of the ornaments twice, once in a turquoise sparkle card and then again in white card. 

Then I used a Marianne scenic die to cut into the white shape and then placed this on top of the turquoise layer. 

I used a simple message to stamp the sentiment and then cut it out with a labels die and cut a mat in the turquoise card. 

I added a couple of snowflakes around the edge and one on the bauble, then finished it off with a couple of pearls and a small star.

Christmas Sophia

Recently I've been trying to think of different ideas for Christmas cards that aren't traditional Christmas images.  

Today's card is made with Bedtime Sophia from Digi Stamp Boutique.  To me she looks like a little girl waiting for Father Christmas.

I used several embellishment dies for the decoration including a new flower which is part of My Favourite Thing Blueprints #3.  Jen bought it last week, but I used it first lol!

A touch of black distress glitter in the centre finishes it off nicely, don't you think?

Heidi with sledge

Good morning all and happy Sunday, hope you are all having a good weekend.

Today's card is made using a new rubber stamp from Whimsy called Heidi with sledge.

I coloured it with Copics and then cut it out with a Spellbinders Decagon die. 

The backing card is Hunkydory I think, I'm not sure as it's been in the stash forever lol. I used the Noor snowflake die at the top and a Marianne Die for the Santa sleigh and reindeer.

I found some icy blue ribbon in the stash and put this across the card then added a blue stripey ribbon bow and a snowflake charm. 

The corner die and stamps are more Marianne ones and I thought the words were perfect for this scene.

I finished it off with some Stickles glitter glue on the image and the Santa sleigh.

Be Happy

Welcome one and all.  Hope you are having a good week.

My card today uses a La La Land Crafts digi, Singing Marci.  I've used her before but I think she is such a versatile image.

I used brownish reds and pinks for this version.  The patterned paper is from a collection called Hazy Days.

These little embellishments are from a new die set.  This is My Favourite Things Blueprints #11.

The butterflies are a Tim Holtz on the edge die.  I cut two colours and layered them up.

Ruby

Good morning all, hope you are well. Today's card uses the rubber stamp Ruby from Whimsey Stamps. 

I coloured her with Copics and then cut her out with a scalloped square die. 

The papers are a mixture from the stash and the card is Coredinations. 

I used the Sue Wilson bow die to make the bow but gave it a bit of bling with the sparkly slider, 

I used a mixture of flowers, quite a lot for me actually but I do like them. 

Then I finished it off with the little sentiment die. 

I think this one will be going to a friend for her birthday next month. Hope you like it. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Fancy Christmas

Good morning crafty friends.  Today marks the second anniversary of this little blog.  We've created lots of lovely cards along the way (and some not so lovely!!).  The very first card Jen posted was a Christmas card so I thought it fitting that I post another today.

A few weeks ago I coloured this wonderful SC image and have had her sat in my drawer ever since.  She isn't a Christmas image but the colours I chose are very traditional so  I thought I'd give it a try.  I am very happy with the result.

The background is a piece of adorable scorable from Hunkydory.  The colours fit perfectly with the image once I matted her with black and white card.

The bow is a Sue Wilson design for Creative Expressions.  I think it adds a lovely flourish.

Christmas stocking

Good morning folks. Today's card is made using a new Sizzix die, the Tim Holtz Christmas stocking and candy cane. 

I decided to go the whole traditional Christmas route and used a simple red and white colour scheme. 

Once I had cut the stocking and extra bits for the heal, toes, and top, I gave these bits a good coating of Cosmic Shimmer glue and then poured Rock Candy Distress Glitter over the top. They are really lovely and sparkly in real like. 

I used card and papers from the stash and a simple ready made sentiment. 

Then I used some Marianne Pom Pom trim and a length of red fiber across the top with 3 little bells. 

The stocking still looked a little plain for me so I punched out some tiny trees and stuck them down the front and then used a little bit more of the red trim to trim the stocking.
