Bugs and birthdays

Hello again.  Today I have another card made for Keira's birthday tomorrow.

This scene was made using the adorable little bugs from Clearly Besotted's Cute as a Bug stamp and die sets.

I stamped each of the critters using memento ink and coloured with Copic markers.  I added a little clear Wink of Stella to the wings of the bee and dragonfly, unfortunately it doesn't show in the pictures.

The white embossed sentiment is from the same set but the Happy Birthday came from another Clearly Besotted set called Laugh Out Loud.

I cut a cloud stencil and inked with Altenew dye ink in sea glass then cut the hillside using one of the Mama Elephant border trio dies.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Painted Poppies

Good morning, I hope you are having a good week, I'm taking Jude to get her stitches out today, so hopefully she will be back to full strength soon.

Today's card is one I made for my mum's friend for her birthday yesterday. I used the Altenew Painted Poppy stamp and die set.

I stamped the flowers using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks in Crimson, Velvet and Dark Chocolate, with Memento Tuxedo Black ink for the outlines.

The leaves and stems were stamped with Memento Dew Drop inks in Pistachio, Olive Grove and Cottage Ivy.

I stamped one of the poppies directly on to the front panel, and cut the others out with the matching dies.

Then I used one of our oldest and still favourite wooden stamps for the sentiment. I stamped it with black ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder on to a strip of white vellum.

Then I mounted it on black card and added a few clear dew drops to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday bunny

Good morning all.  Today I have a little card to share with you that I made for my grand daughter's birthday on Friday.

The little bunny is from the Altenew set Bunny Love and is coloured with Copic markers and cut out by hand.  I thought the original looked a little cross, so I used a fine-liner to add a smile to her mouth and make her eyes bigger.

I used dies from MFT and Mama Elephant for the grass and hillside, and a flower border die from Lawn fawn.  I cut this from white cardstock, coloured with Copics and cut the flowers from the border to make the little flower bed.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Happy & Smile set, heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I added a number die cut that I've had kicking around for a while, which I coloured with a Copic marker to match the flower stems.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Flowery Birthday Wishes

Good morning, I hope you all had a good weekend. My grandsons went home on Saturday afternoon, after a week with us. It's always hard to say goodbye when they've been here, but I know there not too far away and I can see them again in a few weeks.

Anyway, today's card is one I have made for my friend Kaz at work who's birthday is today. I found out recently that her favourite flower is a hydrangea, and I just so happened to have this beautiful Stampendous Hydrangea stamp.

I stamped it with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

Then I water coloured it with SAI Japanese Traditional Colours Watercolour Pens. I used a fine detail Derwent water brush to blend the colours.

I cut the panel out with an MFT shape from a Dienamics Blueprints set and then cut a larger piece of pink embossed card with a stitched rectangle die from the same set.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile stamp set for the sentiment, and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Hope you and Kaz like it. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Wedding wishes

Friday at last!  I hope you have something fun planned for the weekend.

My niece and her family are off to the wedding of their good friends Rob and Sam, and this is the card I made for the happy couple.

The image is one I've used quite a bit for wedding cards.  It is a Tiddly Inks image called You and Me Baby, coloured in greys and silvers with a layer of Wink of Stella in silver.

I used liquid silver shimmer card for the mount and added it to a 15 x 15 cm card blank.

To make it a little more interesting the mount was cut over sized and and angled across the card blank.

The sentiment and the verse inside, are both from a Simon Says Stamp set called Congratulations.  This was part of a card kit from last year.

The sentiment is embossed with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder.

To finish off I added some flat gems.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Relax its your birthday

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. I'm now off work for the rest of the week so today we are taking all of the kids to the cinema. I'm not quite sure what we are seeing yet as there is some dispute over it lol. But I'm sure we will have a good time whatever it is.

Right, today's card was made using the free gift from a recent issue of Papercraft Essentials.

The set came with a slim embossing folder which I used on the side and a few different pineapple and crown stamps with coordinating dies.

I used a 7 x 5 card blank and embossed straight on to it down the left side. Then I added a strip of thin yellow Washi Tape.

For the card front, I used one of the smaller pineapple stamps and stamped it with Memento Dew Drop Inks in Dandelion and Pistachio.

Then I used a couple of the different larger stamps and cut them out with the matching dies.

I layered them over the top of the smaller ones using foam tape, then I stamped one of the sentiments in the top corner with black ink and it was all finished.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Blooming thanks

Wednesday sure came around quick this week!  I'm back with a thank you card I made for work.

This is the Altenew build a rose set that was free with a magazine a few months back.  I used three new inks also from Altenew for the roses and the fourth from the set for the background.  The colours, from light to dark, are Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet.

The leaves are stamped with dew drop memento inks in New Sprout, Pistachio and Olive Grove.

I added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn's scripty sayings embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
