Deck the Trees

Hello again.  I've made another card using the Cheery Christmas set from Lawn Fawn.

This time I've used the landscape trio to cut two snowy hillsides and added a tree to each layer.  These are then covered in bright ornaments hung by the cute little deer and his squirrel friend.

The sentiment is from a really old set we got free on a magazine, but I've completely forgotten who made it!

I've still got loads more cards to make for Christmas, but at least I've made a reasonable early start on them :)

Embossed anniversary card

Good morning all, I hope you have had a really good weekend. We have been having a bit of a clear out of the loft, so nothing very exciting lol. But we did get out for a nice walk with the dogs yesterday morning. 

Anyway, today's card was a very simple make. I cut a piece of white card down to fit a 6 x 6 card base, and then used a Crafter's Companion Embossalicious embossing folder to give a lovely deep embossed design around the edge.

I then used some See Dee's alphabet stamps to stamp the initials, and a Sentimentals stamp for the sentiment.

I stamped them with Versamark ink and then heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Fine Detail embossing powder.

I didn't want a lot else on the card, so I highlighted a couple of areas with tiny crystal gems, 

and then finished it off with a few white daisies, with crystal centres.

Cheery Christmas

Hello again.  Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am!

Today's card is made using a couple of new Lawn Fawn die sets we have recently purchased. Cheery Christmas has cute deer and squirrels along with a tree, ornaments, acorns, fairy lights and a few other pieces.

It also has lots of useful words to make your own sentiments, however I decided to use a scripty sayings stamp from last year.

The other set is called Stitched Mountain Borders.  This cuts two sizes mountains and the snow caps for the tops.

I love these sets and can see them being used a lot in the run up to Christmas.

Sending - Anniversary Balloons

Good morning all, Thursday at last, that means it's nearly Friyay :o)), these weekends sure do take some time to come around lol.

Anyway, today's card was made for my niece and her husband when they celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary last month.

I used 3 different sized heart punches and a selection of papers from the Docrafts, Papermania Basics collection, to make the balloons.

I made sure I punched lots as I wanted to double them up so I could use craft wire to hold them up. 

I laid each one down, then glued a piece of craft wire on the back and then added another balloon in a different pattern on the back. Then I tied them all together with a small piece of wire. 

I used the MFT Stamps, Happy Everything die for the main word. I cut it from one of the papers, stuck on to a piece of card to give it some rigidity and then cut a Stitched Banner Die to sit it on.

I used the Avery Elle, Wonky Ellements for the background and a small anniversary stamp from Simon Says Stamp to finish it off.

A stripey anniversary

I recently watched a video by Jennifer McGuire which prompted my attempts to copy it and resulted in today's card.  If you want to see the original it is on You Tube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEmOPEQCpeo

I cut scraps of card into strips of differing widths and laid these on a double sided sticky sheet.  After pressing these down well I die cut a sentiment from the striped piece and again from white card.

I stamped the sentiment on the white card in rhubarb stalk ink from Memento, which matched one of the stripes really well, then added tiny foam squares to the back.

I ran another piece of white card through the big shot using a stitched die from MFT and layered the striped panel in between.  The sentiment then slotted into the opening.

I used the same rhubarb ink for the happy and added the panel to a matching card blank.

Christening dress

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week and a good start to October.

Today's card is one I made for Jude's youngest Granddaughter Charlotte for her Christening last month. I wanted a card with a Christening dress on, but didn't have a die or stamp so I made one myself.

I used a paper doily for the skirt and folded it until I had the shape I wanted. Then I used a small rectangular piece of white card and used a circle punch to chop out the neck hole and to make the underarm section.

Then I tidied it up with scissors and a corner rounder for the arms. I put it all together with a small pink bow and then decorated it with tiny pearls.

I then used a pearl trim on the bottom of the skirt, around the neck and down the side of the card, after putting it on a pink paper background.

As we don't have stamps for Christenings or Baptism's, I wrote the sentiment on the PC and then printed it onto Safmat. (A clear sticky film which you can print on).

Birthday Bear

Happy Monday everyone.   Can you believe it is October?!

My card today is a cute window card using the cuddly critters from Simon Says Stamp.

I used some small stamps from random sets to create a background, then cut a circle from the centre.

I lined the piece up on my card base and lightly drew a line in pencil to show where the opening would fall.  I then used a birthday sentiment to stamp inside this line.  Once the word was in the correct position I erased the pencil line. 

I used a piece of cardstock which matched my card base to cut the happy sentiment four times, then layered these together to make a dimensional embellishment.

I then coloured one of the cuddly critters and added him to the inside of the circle.

The panel was raised on foam tape and added to the card base.  As I was placing everything I managed to get a black smudge on the front, so I cut a balloon to cover it!
