Collecting Wrinkles

Good morning all, hope you are well. Today's card is the one I made for Alan for his birthday from me.

The image is a Bugaboo Stamps image called Gus Birthday - Collect Wrinkles. I've had the image for ages but never used it, so thought it would be perfect to make a lighthearted card for Alan.

I coloured it with Copics and Spectrums and then cut it out with Labels 29.

The sentiment came with the stamp so I cut that out with a smaller labels 29 die.

Then I cut the letters for Husband and the number 60 with a Tim Holtz letter die, and stuck these on to white card and then backed them with the teal card.

The happy birthday are chipboard words that I coloured with a teal marker to match the card. Then I put it all together with some matching paper from the stash.

Hope you like it, Alan did, take care, see you soon.

Die cuts with a view

Today I have another male birthday card to share with you.

This was made for my youngest son Joseph to send to his uncle Alan.

What do you think?

I used an idea from Quick Cards made easy, which had an article on frame cards.  I used the basic idea and came up with this.

The basic premise is that you cut corresponding apertures in the front folds and place something inside which is viewed through these openings.

I covered the interior with script paper, and found a print for the inner fold.

I used a circle of contrasting cardstock and added numbers using the paper from the inner fold.

I doodled around the edges to give some definition and interest.

Finally I coloured wooden die cut sentiments with a toning Promarker and added them to the front.

Hope you like it.

All Dressed Up

Good morning all, hope you are well today.

This card is one I made a couple of weeks ago for my great niece for her 3rd birthday. To be honest I had forgotten that I hadn't blogged it ;o))

The image is from All Dressed Up, and I coloured it with Copics and Spectrum Noirs.

I cut her out by hand and then found some coordinating papers in the stash.

The flowers are a mixture of paper and fabric ones all placed on a paper doily.

I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, then I added a number 3 and a simple sentiment.

I finished the card off inside with a small strip of the green paper.

Hope you like it.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Born to be wild

This is the card I made for Alan's birthday on Monday.  I used it being for a man as an excuse to go a bit grungy, lol.

The image is from La La Land Crafts and is called Outlaw Luka.

I took a long time to colour him as I wanted to get a good quality image.  He was a lot of fun to do!

The cogs are cut by layering up the different sizes in the Spellbinder cogs set.

The sentiment is one that came with the image and fit Alan quite well.  Well maybe 30 years ago, lol!

So there he is.  Outlaw Luka on his trike.

Hope you like it.

Over the Hill

Good morning all, hope you are well today.

This card is one I made for Mum to send to Alan for his birthday. The Image is Eunice Over The Hill by Ladybug Crafts.

I coloured it with Spectrum Noir pens and then cut it out with Spellbinders Opulent Ovals.

I used a 7 x 5 card blank for a change and typed up the sentiment on the computer.

The paper is from the stash and I found a couple of pieces of  ribbon to match.

I finished the sentiment off inside and added another piece of the patterned paper.

Hope you like it, take care, see you soon.

Guitar man

Hello again.  I hope our UK readers had an enjoyable Bank Holiday yesterday - that's the last one until Christmas! lol :D

Yesterday was also the birthday of my very favourite brother-in-law (ok he's my ONLY brother-in-law, but he's still my favourite!!)

Yes Jen is now married to a 60 year old!

Happy Birthday Alan!!

This is the card I made for Daniel and Staci to give to him.
I used a Lili of the Valley image.

The papers are from the stash and I have no idea which company they are from ;)

I distressed all the edges and inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The clock face is a Tim Holtz die which I really like.  I then just added a few stars and spelt out DAD with stickers.

Hope you like it.

Happy 60th Birthday Alan

Good morning all, today is not only bank holiday Monday here in the UK but it is also my hubby's 60th Birthday! I can't believe he is 60 already lol, he really doesn't look it ;o)). So happy birthday love, hope you have a great day.

Anyway, here is one of the cards I have made for him. This one is from our daughter K and her husband Ian.

I've had the digi image for ages, but don't know where it's from. I have a feeling it's from a disc as it's just called Hippo!

I coloured it with Spectrum Noirs and then cut it out with Spellbinders Labels 22.

The paper is from the stash and I layered it on to a plain 6 x 6 card blank.

I used a Memory Box die to cut the heart shape and then coloured it to match the card with a Spectrum marker. I also coloured the chipboard words with the same pen.

Then I added the stick on '60th' to finish it off. Hope you like it.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Practice makes ....better ;)

Happy Sunday everyone!

We have been away this weekend for Alan's birthday, so I haven't made a card that I can share.  Instead I thought I'd try to inspire all the would be colourists amongst you.

A few months ago I hadn't done any proper colouring since I was a child.  Then I discovered what you can do with alcohol markers if you practice - a lot!!

What do you think?

The image is Singing Marci from La La Land Crafts.

I've used both Copics and Promarkers on these.

This one is totally Promarkers.

And this is all Copics! (Excuse the smudge, my pen leaked!!)

For comparison I will share one of my early attempts, that I was happy with at the time lol.

I think I've improved, what about you??

Alice and Scamp

Good morning all and welcome to the weekend, and a long one here in the UK. Yay, we love bank holidays lol.

Today's card is made using the adorable Alice and Scamp digi from Saturated Canary.

I coloured her with Copics and Distress Markers and then cut her out with Spellbinders Labels 29.

The papers are from a Vintage Summer Fete booklet that we have had for quite some time, but never used!

I backed them all with dark brown Centura Pearl card and added it all to an 8 x 8 card blank.

I made the flower/rosette from some hessian cut with the Tattered Floral die, then added a paper flower, a brad and some leaves. Then I finished it off with a couple of pieces of dark green ribbon.

Then all it needed was the little butterfly to finish the card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
