Bear Hugs

Good morning all, today is my very special nephew's 23rd birthday. Yes Jude's youngest is now 23. Gosh that must make her really really old 😜. Anyway, this is the card I am sending him, as hugs, especially Panda hugs, play a very special part of Joe's childhood, so he will appreciate it.

The cute Panda and Koala are from the Simon Says Stamp Cuddly Critters Set. I heat embossed them with white embossing powder and then shaded them slightly with a white pencil, a Versamark pen and clear Wink of Stella.

I cut them out with their matching dies, and used an MFT background die to cut the yellow 'sun and rays' layer.

I then went for a plain white backing card and a black note card.

As I couldn't find a stamp to say what I wanted, I whipped this one up on the PC. Very simple, a black circle with white text and then cut it out with a 1 1/4 inch EK Success circle punch.

I raised the bears and the sentiment on foam pads, and then added a few black and silver sparkle enamel dots to finish it off.

Hope you like it, and Happy, Happy Birthday Joe.

Take care and I'll see you soon.

Yellow and Grey - Christmas Elf

Good morning folks, I know it's February and I'm sharing a Christmas card ! but this is one of the ones I never got around to posting at Christmas, and I really do like it lol.

I used the MFT Santa's Elves, to stamp the images. Then I coloured them with Copic markers and cut them out with their matching dies.

For this little guy, I used a grey and mustard yellow colour scheme, and then used cardstock to match.

I used a MFT Zig Zag Stitched Circle die to cut a frame out of silver card, and then cut a circle window out of the yellow card. I backed this with some gold Christmas paper and a piece of snowy acetate.

I cut the yellow card down with a Stitched Rectangle die and put it onto a grey card blank.

Then I added the images with foam pads, stamped a sentiment from the set and used a Spellbinders corner die to add a little interest. Then I finished it off with a few silver sparkly enamel dots.

Hope you like it too, take care and I'll see you soon.

Hello - English Rose

Good morning, I hope you are having a good start to the week. I start my new job today, so a little nervous but looking forward to getting back to work, after the uncertainty of the last few weeks.

Today's card is one I made when I was having a play with ink colours and water colouring. It's one of those cards that I made just because I wanted too and not because I needed it lol. So I really enjoyed making this one.

I started with some watercolour card and our Zig Clean Colour Markers, and made a very soft watercolour background. Then I added thin score tape down the side and put some gold foil over the top.

The flowers are from the Clearly Besotted English Rose set and are stamped with Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Altenew Crisp Dye inks. The leaves are stamped with, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen and Jet Black, Altenew inks.

I arranged them on my watercolour panel and then added another strip of foil to the pink card base.

Some double sided sticky tape and more foil was perfect to cut the Simon Says Stamp, Painted Hello sentiment with. Then I added a ton of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen to the flowers and a few gold glitter enamel dots to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Have a Beautiful Day

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Apologies for the lack of post on Friday but we had a bit of a medical emergency. Our Mum was taken ill late Thursday night with severe chest pains and ended up in the hospital. Six hours later she eventually got to see a doctor! after many tests, chest x-rays, MRI's with dye, she was eventually diagnosed with Pleurisy. Luckily she's now home and on the mend with some high dose painkillers.

Today's card is the one I made to send to my daughter who's birthday was on Saturday. I used one of the new stamp sets that Jude got for her birthday called Beautiful Day from Altenew.

I used the new inks Jude also got, these are from Hero Arts and they are by Kelly Purkey.

They don't have individual colour names but they are the mini cubes that come in sets of four. We have the Urban Ink, Coffee and Donuts and the Fashion Ink sets,

I used a soft Kraft card for the main image this time for a bit of a softer look.

The sentiment is from the MFT Happy Everything set, I die cut the Happy twice, once with black card stock and then with fun foam for dimension.

I glued the two layers together and then covered them with Clear Wink of Stella for lots of sparkle. Then I added a few coordinating enamel dots to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
