Sunday 6th July - Star Card

Good morning all and happy Sunday. Today's card is one of the male cards that I made for my nephew last week.

I went with a star theme, and kept the colour palette quite neutral with grey and burgundy.

I used a couple of things that I haven't used in a while like the eyelet set into the semi circle, and a star stamp that I'm not sure I've ever used before.

I also paper pierced around the grey card which I haven't done in ages.

I stamped a happy birthday message and added some natural twine and it was all finished.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Sardinia

I thought you might like to see some pictures of our holiday destination.

Alghero, is a town of about 44,000 inhabitants in Italy. It lies in the province of Sassari in northwestern Sardinia, next to the Mediterranean Sea. The name Alghero comes from the medieval Latin Aleguerium, meaning stagnation of algae on the coast. (Wikipedia)

Grotta di Nettuno

This the Cave of Neptune, which we are visiting this weekend.  Isn't it stunning?

Alghero

This is the tower of Porta Terra, ancient entrance to the city and about 10 minutes walk from where we are staying.

Friday 4 July - Doggy Scrabble Frame

Good morning all, hope you are well today. Hopefully by now I am laid by the pool on holiday soaking up the sun :o)) But while we are away we have scheduled some posts to keep you going lol.

Today's post is another of my name frames. This one my cousin Kirsty asked me to make for my aunt and uncle.

It contains all of the names of the dogs that they have had over the last approx 35 years.

Sadly most have passed away over time but they do still have Emily. They have all been Yorkshire Terriers and have all had very different characters. Starting off with Susie many, many years ago, who used to love bacon sandwiches and biting my brothers feet lol.

I used a large 12 x 12 frame for this one and kept a neutral feel.

My aunt and uncle loved the gift and it now hangs on the wall in the summer house in the garden.

Hope you like it too.

See you soon. Take care.

It's such a lovely day

Happy birthday to Me! Happy birthday to Me!
Happy birthday dear Me-ee! Happy birthday to Me!

Guess what today is?  Yep it's Thursday lol [and my birthday ;)] It's also the day Jen and I fly off to sunny Sardinia for 7 days, so forgive us if our posts are a little sparse over the next week.

This is my latest creation to share with you.  It is the lovely 'Lovely' by Krista Smith.

She is coloured with Promarkers and didn't turn out too badly.

I layered her on several papers from the stash, then added rolled flowers and leaves cut from matching card stock.

I really like this colour combination.  What do you think?

World Map

Good morning all, hope you are well today. This is the card that I made for D for his birthday on Saturday from Alan and me.

D and his girlfriend Staci, love to travel, so I decided to go with a map theme. I got the image from Google images, a copyright free image of a world map. I saved it and re-sized it to suit an A5 card blank.

I printed it twice, and cut sections of the 2nd one out to decoupage with. I just picked a few random places to give it a bit of interest.

I made up the sentiment for across the bottom and finished it on the inside. It reads, "For your birthday, we wanted to give you the whole world.... but unfortunately you will have to make do with this card instead!"

Then I added a 'Son' die cut to finish it off. D loved it, hope you like it too.

Take care, see you soon.

Daniel and Edward

These are two more of the boys birthday cards from last weekend.

As with my previous post I doubled up this card.  I used a new embossing folder for the base and wrapped it with twine.

I then took two images from a Lili of the Valley Art Pad and layered them on coordinating card.

This one was for Edward.

And this one for Daniel.

Hope you like them.
