Egg hunt

Happy Easter everyone.  Hope you've had a fun filled holiday weekend.

Today I have another card using the March card kit from Simon Says Stamp.

I wanted to create a scene that looks like the critters are showing off their haul from an Easter egg hunt :)

I stamped the chick, bunny and several eggs then coloured them with Copic markers.

I white embossed a sentiment on green card before cutting it using the stitched landscape trio dies from Mama Elephant.

I used the cloud edge to make bushes and used the two slopes for my landscape.  These were added to a pale blue note card.

I layered up the card using foam squares then added my critters and eggs.

Here you can see a little of the dimension I created.

The final step was to add a few white highlights to the eggs and the bunny's face.

Window bear

Good morning all and Happy 'Good Friday'. I hope you are all having a lovely start to the Easter weekend, and looking forward to a nice long break, if possible. ✔

Today's card is one I made last year, but again never got around to blogging. I used a Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder for the background, and inked it with Antique Linen, Vintage photo and Tea Dye Distress inks.

I used a Spellbinders Die D-Lites window die, to cut the window from dark grey card. Then I added a piece of patterned paper and a small bit of lace behind the window.

The little bear is from the WPlus9 Going Places stamp set, I coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out with his matching die. Then I popped him inside the window, to look like he was waving to someone outside.

I used a sentiment from a Lawn Fawn set called Party Animal, stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then mounted on to a piece of the dark grey card to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Watercolour bunny

Hello friends.  Hope you are having a good week.

My card today is made using the Simon Says Stamp March card kit.

This is full of lovely Easter themed images.
I made a card to watercolour using my Zig pens.

I stamped the bunny and a couple of eggs, then embossed them in white. I then coloured the images with the pens and used a water brush to move the ink around.

The background was made by scribbling colour on the bottom of the page and spreading it out with the water brush.  I wasn't sure this was going to work out at first but I just kept adding my colours until I got a finish I could live with.

Once it was all dry I added a sentiment using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black and darkened the bunny's eyes with a black pen.

Some Bunny Loves You

Good morning all and happy 'hump day', I hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the Easter weekend.

I think this gorgeous smiling bunny is perfect for this week, and Easter cards. But I used it for a birthday card last week for my brother to send to our nephew.

The stamp is from the Some Bunny set by Uniko, I stamped it with Gray Flannel Memento ink, and then coloured it with Copic markers.

I cut the panel out using an Avery Elle, Wonky Stitched Ellements die, then I added the panel to a mid grey note card.

I used the same ink to stamp the sentiments from Avery Elle and Crafters Companion, then added a heat embossed sentiment on to a strip of black card across the bottom.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Gilded heart

Hello and thanks for visiting us today.

This is the last of the cards I sent on Mother's Day a couple of weekends ago.

To be fair it isn't a completely new card.  The front panel was made quite some time back and I cut it down to fit a 5.5 x 4.25 card blank.

The panel started as a piece of white card with a sheet of double sided sticky paper added.  I then covered this with gilding flakes.  These are called Winter Dawn and are made by IndigoBlu.

I stamped the Love Is stamp with Staz-on ink over the gilding.  The surface is quite slippery so this takes a bit of care.

The sentiment is a Kaisercraft rub-on.  I don't use these very often anymore but I found them really useful when I had access to a limited number of sentiment stamps.

It is difficult to get a good photograph as the light reflects off the flakes in the background, but it looks lovely up close.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Amazing day

Good morning friends, I hope you have all had a good weekend. We have had a busy but nice weekend, getting a few jobs done around the house, and enjoying the nice weather. It really does make a change to see the sun shine. 🌞

Today's card is made using the Altenew Fresh Freesia stamp again. I know I've used it quite a few times, but I really do love this simple stamp, it's perfect for 'girl' cards, and really easy to colour.

I used Versamark ink to stamp the flower and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder, before colouring it with Copic markers.

I heat embossed the sentiment on to black card and used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper to add strips down the edges of a pink note card.

I raised the front panel with craft foam and added a piece of gold mirror card to the back just to be seen top and bottom. Then I added a few gold sequins and it was all finished.

I later went back after I'd taken the pics, and added a Sister sentiment to the card. Then gave this one to mum as it's her sister's birthday tomorrow. So happy birthday for tomorrow Aunty Sandra, hope you have a lovely day.

Hope you all like it too, have a great week, take care and I'll see you soon.

Easter Egg

I don't make many Easter cards but this month's Simon Says Stamp kit encouraged me to have a go.

The set contains some lovely stamps, papers and Nuvo embellishing Mousse.  I'll show that in another card.

I used the stencil from the set with another new purchase - Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks!  I must say they are absolutely fabulous a blend so easily.

I used a very light hand to blend Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Worn Lipstick through the stencil, then taped off the edges to add a border.

I added a touch of Spectrum Noir sparkle pen for a bit of shimmer, then adhered the panel to a piece of textured white cardstock.  The whole thing was applied to a bright pink 5.5 x 4.25 note card.

I think this is a quick and easy card that could be mass produced if needed.  Hope you like it.
