Circles and rings

Hello again.

Today's card was made for my son-in-law's birthday last week. This one was from my youngest son, Joe.

I collected together a few stamp sets which all had circular images.  I used sets from Simon Says Stamp, Uniko, and Hero Arts.

I stamped each image on to a piece of white card using different colours of Distress Oxide.

Once I had covered the card I trimmed it down and attached to a card base made from a co-ordinating colour.  This one is Simon's Audrey blue.

I cut the numbers from another piece of the same card using Papermania carnival numbers, and attached them using foam pads.

I then added some Nuvo shimmer pen over the top.

The finishing touch was the sentiment heat embossed with Nuvo glacier white and some caribbean ocean crystal drops.

Circle in a spiral

Hello and welcome.

My card for today features a simple layout that I used on another masculine card last week.

I love the angled lines of this but decided to contrast them with a circular stamped pattern.  This stamp is by Uniko and is called Round in Circles.

I embossed two of the images using Simon Says Stamp embossing ink and Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

The background was created using three distress oxide inks - Iced Spruce, Fossilized Amber and Hickory Smoke.

I trimmed the panel to fit a black card base and added a silver glitter strip.  I then embossed the birthday sentiment.

Once the card was done I didn't like the brightness of the silver glitter.  To rectify this I masked off the strip and added embossing ink and powder over the top.  Once melted this looked much better.

Background stamping

Well it's Thursday already.  Where does the week go?

Today's card was made using the Background Builder - Round in Circles stamp set from Uniko.

The round images made me think of crop circles.  Why? I've no idea :)

Using Memento inks I stamped the circles in Sweet Plum, the lines in Teal Zeal and the arrows in Galaxy Gold.  I loved how these worked together and made a simple but interesting card.

For the sentiment I used Handwritten Notes from Avery Elle and white embossed it on white card.  I then took a black pigment ink and coloured the card so that the white writing stood out.

I cut this with a flag die and added it on foam tape to the background.

I was going to call it finished but I couldn't resist adding some golden liquid pearls for some extra bling.

Beautiful Blooms

Hello.  Today's card is made using a stamp from a new set called Beautiful Blooms III by Uniko.

This is a three layer stamp for which I used Altenew inks in Frosty Pink, Coral Berry and Ruby Red.  The leaves are Frayed Leaf and Evergreen.

I had a strip cut from a card I made a couple of weeks ago which is gilding flakes on double sided adhesive.  It works really well as an accent to the flowers.

I adhered one cut flower and leaves to the card, added my silver strip then finished with two blooms raised with some foam squares.

You can see a little dimension in the next picture.

I love the delicate look of this card which was finished with a simple sentiment from the Avery Elle City Celebrations set.

Hip Hip Hooray - Happy Birthday

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is very bright and cheerful and made using a combination of different products from different companies.

That chubby little Koala bear is from Simon Says Stamp, Cuddly Critters set. I stamped him with Versamark ink on to orange card, then heat embossed him with white embossing powder. The shading and highlights are added with white pencil, Versamark pen and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen.

I made the background panel using one of Uniko's, background builder stamp sets. I used a couple of the different circles and stamped them with Tim Holtz Distressed Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade.

Then I added some Nuvo Pearl Drops in Ripened Pumpkin and Crystal Drops in Silver Moondust.

 I cut a frame using an MFT Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle die, and put it in the middle of my background. Then I raised the outer edge on foam strips and added the Koala to the middle. 

To finish it off I used a sentiment from the Avery Elle, City Celebrations set, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, over the Distressed Oxide ink.

Some Bunny Loves You

Good morning all and happy 'hump day', I hope you are having a good week and looking forward to the Easter weekend.

I think this gorgeous smiling bunny is perfect for this week, and Easter cards. But I used it for a birthday card last week for my brother to send to our nephew.

The stamp is from the Some Bunny set by Uniko, I stamped it with Gray Flannel Memento ink, and then coloured it with Copic markers.

I cut the panel out using an Avery Elle, Wonky Stitched Ellements die, then I added the panel to a mid grey note card.

I used the same ink to stamp the sentiments from Avery Elle and Crafters Companion, then added a heat embossed sentiment on to a strip of black card across the bottom.

You are amazing

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. I'm off to have the root touch up today, you know to cover the twinkly bits that I'm still in denial about. Thinking about going grey all over so that it just blends in lol.

Anyway, today's card was an experiment with a new stamp set and some of those new  Distress Oxide Inks by the very clever Tim Holtz.

I was very lucky to win an incredibly generous giveaway on Instagram from the lovely Beverley at Uniko stamps, 6 stamp sets!!! So today's card is made using one of those.

I stamped the Fun Flowers set from Uniko, randomly on a piece of Kraft card. Then I blended, Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Broken China, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick distress inks all over the top.

These inks blend so easily, they are absolutely gorgeous, and beautiful colours too. Then I went all over the design with my Spectrum Noir Glitter Shimmer pen in clear. I'm not sure the camera has picked up the sparkle all that well but believe me it does look lovely.

The sentiment is from a WPlus9 set called That is All, and I finished it off by sticking the panel to a deep purple card blank.
