It's Owl-right now...

I know, I really am scraping the bottom of the barrel for titles now lol. But it's better than just yet another Happy Birthday isn't it???.

Anyway good morning and Happy Saturday. Hope you are all well and looking forward to a nice weekend. I'm resting up today, as had a bit of a hard week, and then we are off to the Great British Craft Festival tomorrow. And for once I have managed to talk my hubby in to coming too :o)) On the couple of occasions that we have been to the NEC, our baby brother, John, has very kindly escorted us, (make that drive us there and back, and help with carrying bags lol) but this weekend we will have John and Alan with us, so really looking forward to the day out :o))

Today's card is one of our new digi stamps from Saturated Canary. The super talented Krista Smith had a bit of a sale on last weekend with the release of four new stamps so I'm afraid I couldn't resist!

This lovely lady is simply called Tea and a book.

I thought she warranted something a little different so I went to town with green papers, twine and flowers.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Twenty Eight. Matted on to some green sparkly paper cut with the larger size die.

I inked all of the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and layered everything on to an 8x8 scalloped edge card blank.

The paper hearts and tiny little flowers with twine bows came all the way from Thailand :o)) My son and his girlfriend picked us up some lovely bits and pieces while they were over there and these are a couple of them.

I finished the card with a small frame wrapped in natural twine and an owl that I made from air dry clay. The owl was white so I gave him a spray with a Tan mist and then gave him a good coating of Gold Gilding Wax. While it was still wet I rubbed it over with a baby wipe to show some of the base colour through.

Anyway that's more than enough from me today. Hope you have a great weekend.

See you soon.
