El bailarĂn

Hello and welcome!  This week we are showcasing cards made with the April Hero Arts kit.
We recently subscribed to the monthly releases and so far have loved what we have had.

This month has a fiesta theme, so lots of images of dancing, music, pinatas and cactus, lol!

For today's card  I coloured the lady mouse in some sunny colours and added her to a circle cut from a background blended with Fossilised Amber and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxides.

For the background I took the banner image and stamped it across my card base using Altenew's Sunkissed ink.

I embossed the sentiment, which means let's dance, on to a strip of the background piece and added it below the die cut circle.  Both have some dimension using foam tape.

I like how my little lady turned out, and I'm sure you'll see her again sometime.

You are my Sunshine

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to a nice weekend. I know we are, it's been another stressful week after mum fell in the garden on Saturday and hurt her wrist and hip. But as she could move all of her fingers, we thought she was OK, unfortunately not, and after 4 days of pain she decided to take herself off to the hospital while we were all at work! and guess what? a distal radial fracture to her left wrist đŸ˜¥.

Luckily Jude was able to go an pick her up from the hospital, and I managed to get a couple of hours off yesterday to take her back to the fracture clinic. So now she is sporting a rather fetching black and red splint, after complaining that she didn't want to be in pot for our holiday in 5 weeks lol.

Anyway, on to today's card. Do you remember this card  which I showed a couple of weeks ago, where I had used the other part of this rainbow die cut. Well this is what I made out of the remains.

I took the negative pieces from the die and using the positive piece as a guide for spacing and layout, I stuck these down on to a pale blue card blank.

As I didn't want to cover up a lot of the colour, I opted for a couple of simple sentiments.

The stamped sentiment is from a craft magazine stamp set, and the die cut Sunshine is from Simon Says Stamp. I used an MFT Stitched Banner Die to cut out the stamped sentiment, and layered the sunshine die-cut 3 times for dimension.

Hope you like it, take care and have a lovely weekend.

Bright blooms

Hello again.  Thank you for joining us today.
Sorry I'm a bit late with my post today.  I completely forgot to schedule it!!

Today's card is actually two.  I copied an idea by Yana Smakula to create a background and cut it up to make several cards.

In her examples she made a large pattern and cut it up to create three cards.  I cut mine the same way but just made two.

I used lots of flowers from my Simon Says Stamp card kits and a range of Altenew inks to randomly stamp a bright floral background.

I also chose sentiments from Simon for my messages.  I chose to stamp this one three times across my card and ading my paper either side.

This die cut sentiment is from our stash and I can't remember whose make it is!  However this is cut from black card and is three layers deep.

These are such easy cards to make and are suitable for any semi-solid image.  I intend to make some more with our other stamp sets.

See you next week.  TTFN Jude xx

You're a star

Good morning all and happy hump day. I thought a nice bright card might cheer us all up today lol.

Today's card is one I made last month while having a bit of a play with our Alcohol Inks and making backgrounds. For this one I had great fun using a few different colours, and dropping them on to an acrylic block before splattering them on to card using the Tim Holtz Splatter brush.

I can't remember all of the colours, but I know it included, Ginger, Caramel, Lettuce and Denim, and splattering them from differing heights.

Once I was happy with the design, I cut the panel out using an Avery Elle, Wonky Stitched Ellements die and mounted it on to an orange card blank.

I used some Sizzix Nesting Star dies to cut a few stars from orange, white and black card. I arranged these on my card raising some on foam pads.

I stamped a sentiment from a Lawn Fawn stamp set called, I'm So Jelly, using Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then to complete the card, I cut out the sentiment with a Stitched Rectangle Die and raised this on foam tape too.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Spring florals

Welcome back friends.

My card today is full of spring pastel colours and simple stamping.

I used the My Favorite Things set called Everything About You and stamped the main sentiment on to a piece of 4 x 5.25 white card.
I used the MISTI and had to stamp it four times to make sure I got a good impression.
The daughter stamp is from Altenew's Family Matters set.

I took stamps from the Simon Says Stamp set called Beautiful Day and several soft shades of Altenew ink to complete the background.

I overlapped the images with each other and the sentiment and love the finished look.
I also added some liquid pearls in buttercup.

This is such an easy card to replicate, and with so many sentiments in my stash to choose from,  I can see me doing this type of card again.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Celebrate in Gold, Black and Red

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. I didn't get any crafty time this weekend, but we did go out with my son and daughter-in-law for a pub lunch yesterday, and it was delicious.

Today's card was meant to be all black and gold, but somehow ended up with red too. It's a combination I don't often use, but I do think it works.

I started with the background and used a couple of the new A6 background stamps from Crafti Potential at Craftstash. I bought these a few weeks ago, and must admit I really like them. The ones I got are called, Quatrefoil and Fleur De Lis, and as you can see, the Fleur De Lis is designed to fit inside the Quatrefoil.

I heat embossed these using Versamark Ink and Bright Gold Detail Embossing Powder from Creative Expressions on to black card. Then using the Altenew Layering Rose Die, from a recent craft magazine, I cut the flower and leaves from gold and black card.

I used an A6 red aperture card blank and popped the background inside, then added the flower and leaves in the bottom corner. I wasn't sure which sentiment to use, but in the end went for the Celebrate word die from Clearly Besotted.

I used the die to draw an outline on black card and cut this out by hand, and then added the red die-cut word on top. Then I finished off with a few red pearls.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Hello there!

Hello again.  Hope you're looking forward to a crafty weekend.

My card today is very, very simple - just two inks, two stamps, 3 Copic markers and some Nuvo drops.

The cow is from Party Animals by MFT and the sentiment is from My Monthly Hero's March kit.

I stamped and coloured the cow then fussy cut her.  I inked the background with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and added the cow with some foam tape.

I wanted some card to matt the sentiment but didn't have anything the right colour.  To correct that I cut a piece of white card and inked the edges with the same Copic marker I used for the cow's balloon.

To finish off I added a few black Nuvo drops.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Let's go fly a kite

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card was one of those that I just made for fun, to try a couple of things out.

We have different colours of fun foam that we use for giving cards dimension, and I thought the grey colour would be perfect for an elephant.

So using Ellie by Avery Elle, I stamped the image onto the grey foam using London Fog Memento Ink. Then I cut him out using the matching die.

We also had some old sparkly craft foam, so I used a Spellbinders kite die to cut one of those. The background images are from a Creative Stamping stamp set, and I stamped the kite image all over a pale water colour panel.

I cut the panel to size, and added it to a grey card blank, then I added two sentiments from the same Creative Stamping set, in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Farmyard friends

Hello again.  Hope you're having a good week.

Today's card uses another new-to-us set from My Favorite Things.  This one is Party Animals.  I love the corny sentiments in it!

I stamped and coloured all the animals and fussy cut them.  For the background I blended Broken China and Cracked Pistachio inks, very lightly over a piece of white card.

I added two sentiments from the set, then adhered all the animals. A few are popped up on foam tape for dimension.

I added the finished piece to a card base made with Simon's Audrey Blue card stock.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Hoppy Birthday

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good start to the week. I have had a nice long weekend off work, which was very welcome and much needed. But alas all good things must come to an end, and I'm back to work tomorrow lol.

Anyway today's card was made using a bit of a mixture of things. I started by using post it notes to die-cut my frog, from the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After set, and a flower shape, to use as masks in the middle of my panel.

Then I stamped my little frog, and masked him while I blended a light area around him using Distress Oxide Inks, and Picket Fence Distress Ink.

I covered a lot of this area with my flower shape mask, and blended the rest of the panel, making it a lot darker than the middle so it looks more murky pond like, lol.

I removed the masks and coloured my little frog with Copic markers and then added a border around his lily pad with a white gel pen. Using small fish stamps from an old magazine set, I used Versamark ink and clear heat embossed the fish and bubbles so they looked like they were under water.

Then I added a couple of white heat embossed sentiments on black card, and mounted it all on to a black note card, before adding a few clear dewdrops to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
