Simple Male Cards

Good morning all, hope you are ready for a new week. I'm lucky enough to have another week off before I have to go back to work :o)) but poor old Jude has had to go back today :o(( But then again I think I need it, so much for coming home refreshed and ready to get back to some serious crafting. I have so far managed to make the grand total of 1 card since we got back last Thursday! and I can't share that as it's for my Daughter's birthday on Wednesday lol.

So today's post is a couple of simple male cards that I made a few weeks ago.

This one uses an embossing folder for the background and then I used the same embossing folder again on some yellow card.

I cut a piece out and layered it over the top to give the Happy Birthday sentiment. Then I used Spellbinders Gold Corners One to cut a couple of pieces for the corners.

I finished it off with some large yellow sticky numbers.

I got inspiration for this second card from a Google search. I came across a very simple design for a male card which I just altered slightly so suit what I had in my scrap box.

A simple Kraft card blank with a couple of pieces of torn paper on.

Three buttons glued in between them and then finished off with a stamped sentiment.

Both of these were really simple cards to make but still quite effective.

Hope you like them, see you soon.

Take care.

Happy Mothers Day

Good morning everyone, hope you are all having a lovely weekend. For those of us in the UK today is Mother's day, I think it is celebrated on different days elsewhere.

So today we are all off out for a family meal, which means none of us mummies have to cook lol. So mummies, mums, moms, nans, nannies, grandma's, step moms, foster mums and all other mummy folk out there. Happy Mother's Day. I hope you all have a lovely day.

I can't share the card that I have made for my Mum yet as she hasn't seen it, and I know she always logs on to the blog first thing in the morning. So I don't want her to see it here first lol.

So today's card is another that I have made for a special young man who is 20 tomorrow.

I used a Kraft card blank and blue Coredinations card for the base. Then I cut another piece of Kraft card to size and used a Spellbinders Labels Four to cut the aperture.

I stamped the image from a Camden Town set using blue pigment ink, and then heat set it with clear embossing powder.

I raised the image on two layers of sticky foam so that it really stood out.

To finish I used my little Kraft stickers to write the sentiment.

Hope you like it, see you soon.

Take care

First Love

Good morning all, hope you are well today.

Today's card is using another of the marvelous digi stamps that I got from Time for Tea Designs. This one is called First Love. Isn't she sweet?

I coloured her with Promarkers and then cut her out by hand.

The papers are from the new Dovecraft range, Curiosity Corner, they are gorgeous. Everything is inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

I found the burlap panel hiding in one of the drawers and now I'm in love and really neeeeed to get some more. The flowers are Tattered Florals from Sizzix, shaped with my pokey tool, inked edges with DI and then held together with little brads. I haven't used brads for absolutely ages (cause I forget what we have lol) and I do love them.

I finished the card with a Kraft tag with a die cut sentiment, tied on with twine and then a little bird charm added.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

New Year's Eve 2013

Morning all.  This is the last post of 2013! Hard to believe but tomorrow is a new year.  Don't they fly when you get older?
I don't have many more Christmas cards left to show you, this is the one I made for our brother John to send to Jen and Alan.
It is a 6 x 6 kraft card covered with a reindeer paper from the Docrafts collection, Christmas in the Country.  I matted the ready made topper on to blue then silver mirror card.  The sentiment was just matted with blue.  Very simple but I like it.
I know it's early but I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2014.  I hope it brings you all you wish for.  Happy New Year.

New Home

Good morning crafty friends, hope you are well and warm on this cold November morning. I don't normally feel the cold as some others do, but even I think these last couple of days have been pretty cool lol. My family won't believe I'm saying this but I've actually had the heating on extra ;o))

Anyway today's card was made for my son and his girlfriend for when they moved in to their lovely new home on Friday. And after the week they had waiting for contracts to exchange etc. they were more than ready for it. lol.

This one is a Tilda and I decided to sit her on a moving box seen as how it was for a new home card.

I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir pens and then cut the image out and stuck pearl string all around it.

I used some vintage looking paper on a 6 x 6 Kraft card blank for the base, and then added the sentiment which I printed from the PC and put into a little glassine envelope.

A few pearls and some lace and it was all done.

Hope you like it. Many thanks for stopping by.

See you soon
