You mean the world to me

Good morning all, can you believe it's March already ?? I also cannot believe that my baby brother is 37 today 😲, where does the time go lol.

Today's card is one I made for my brother from Mum, (I added the Son sentiment after taking the photo's).

I used a new background stamp for this card from Hero Arts, called Map of the World BG. I stamped it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with White Fine Detail Embossing Powder from Simon Says Stamp.

I wanted the card to look aged, a bit like an old map, so I used Distress Inks in, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and Tea Dye, and blended them all over the embossed image.

Then I stamped a sentiment from an old Creative Expressions stamp set, onto Kraft card, heat embossed it with the same white powder and then spent ages trying to decide where to put it !

In the end I decided to cut the sentiment up and spread it across the map.

Then I added the whole thing to a Kraft card blank and it was all finished.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Birthday boy #3

Hello again.  Judy hear with another card made for brother John's birthday yesterday.

This features his favourite VW camper vans.

The image was purchased from Handmade Harbour and each of the three vans can be separated to use individually.

I coloured each van with Distress Markers and did the background with watered Distress Inks.  I love the texture you get with these.

I cut the image to fit a 5 x 7 blank and just mounted it straight to it, no matts, no fuss.

Hope you like it. TTFN Jude xx

Thursday 2nd January 2014

Morning bloggers. Me again!
We had a lovely day together for the parents anniversary and spent the evening with all the family at Daniel and Staci's new house to see in the new year.  Even the kids managed to stay awake to count down with Jools Holland as we approached midnight ;)

Today I am sharing the first of the anniversary cards I made for Mum and Dad. This one was for John to send them.  He's not a fussy person so something simple but heartfelt was called for.  I think this fit the bill.
The card stock and words are all from a Hunkydory set I bought for Valentines last year.  The card more or less made itself!
I took several of the words from the sentiment sheet and put them together to spell out the message.
Quick and easy but effective. The type of card I should make more of!!

New Year's Eve 2013

Morning all.  This is the last post of 2013! Hard to believe but tomorrow is a new year.  Don't they fly when you get older?
I don't have many more Christmas cards left to show you, this is the one I made for our brother John to send to Jen and Alan.
It is a 6 x 6 kraft card covered with a reindeer paper from the Docrafts collection, Christmas in the Country.  I matted the ready made topper on to blue then silver mirror card.  The sentiment was just matted with blue.  Very simple but I like it.
I know it's early but I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy 2014.  I hope it brings you all you wish for.  Happy New Year.

Sunday

Morning all. I can't believe how quick the days are going.  It feels like Christmas was yesterday but it was actually 4 days ago.  Blink and it will be New Year!
New Year's Eve is our parents anniversary.  This year is their 47th!! For the next couple of days Jen and I will be busy making cards for the family to send them. Once the cards have been given to them I can share with you but today I'm sharing the card I made for our brother John for Christmas.
I love this Santa and reindeer die.  I think it's a Marianne die but I'm not 100% sure.
The tree was a freebie from a magazine (I think).  Jen will correct me if I'm wrong lol.
Once I had the die cuts it was a simple matter of matting and layering a couple of Christmas papers on to a 6 x 6 kraft card and adding the sentiment.
Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
