New beads

Good morning all, hope you are all well. I'm back to work today after a 3 week break over Christmas! It seemed like a really good idea at the time, now I'm dreading going back lol.

Anyway today I have some new jewellery to share with you. My son and his girlfriend always do us a stocking for Christmas and fill them with lots of little goodies. This year they had got me some really gorgeous beads from John Lewis.

There were so many beads in the two packets that I have managed to make 4 bracelets,

and 3 pairs of earrings.

With just 1 big bead left over to go on a chain or keyring.

aren't they just scrumptious?

Jude also got a couple of packs in purple colours so next time I'm beading I shall be making her something with those.

Hope you like them all, thanks for dropping by.

See you soon, take care.

Monday 6th January

Monday morning and back to work for me - booooo! I know I've been off since Christmas Eve but I feel like I need longer, MUCH longer lol.
Anyway this is the last of the parents anniversary cards.  This is the one I sent them.
I took a 6 x 6 kraft card blank and added 2 papers from the Vintage Notes collection.

I die cut a heart from centura pearl after stamping the sentiment, and cut out a tag from the papers which I added the date to.
A few matching pearls and the flowers (which I love and really must buy more of) and the card was complete.
Hope you like it as much as they did.

More Anniversary Cards

Yes, sorry I haven't been able to get in to the craftroom yet to make anything new so today will have to be more anniversary cards.

These are the ones I made for other members of the family to send to Mum and Dad.

This is a super cute little pyramid topper.

and another layered topper from a Hunkydory set.

Then on to a bit of stamping and heat embossing with pigment ink.

Then finally the one we sent them. The flowers stamped with black archival and then mounted on to Opulent Ovals in black Centura Pearl card. Then matted with White Centura Pearl card which I embossed with the Entwined Hearts folder.

Hope you like them all, I know Mum and Dad did.

See you soon, take care.

Saturday 4th January

Morning folks.  Today I have another anniversary card to share with you.  This one was for my daughter.
I received some free papers and cardstock toppers on a magazine and loved the colours.  The set is called Sweet Pea by Kaisercraft.
I took one piece of the paper pack and rounded the corners before attaching to a 5 x 7 card blank.  I inked the edges with Aged Mahogany distress ink before adding a layer of cream card similarly inked.
I took several of the flowers and layered them up with glue and foam pads to get different heights.  I then added some of the bunting.
The sentiment is a stamp we received in a free set with another magazine.  I do like to make use of the free elements of my stash.
A ribbon, lace and a few pearls finished it off.  Hope you like it.

Not a great start to the year

Good morning all. Hope all is well with you and that you have had a better start to the new year than our brother and parents have. They were going home on New Year's Day from visiting us when they were hit head on by another driver. Luckily John managed to swerve the car enough to take the major impact on the drivers corner rather than full head on and because of this they have all managed to walk away from it. Very bruised and extremely shook up but at least they are all in one piece.

The other driver didn't look so lucky and had to be stretchered off to hospital. We don't know yet how he is but hopefully he will be OK too. They say these things are sent to try us but my parents have more than enough going on at the minute without this as well! But if the love and support of family and friends can get you through then we know they will all be fine.

Then to top the start to the new year off really well, my youngest granddaughter Isabelle came down with chicken pox yesterday!

Anyway that's enough rambling from me. How about something crafty?

This is the card that I made for dad to send to mum for their wedding anniversary.

And this is the one I made for mum to send to dad. Lol.

They were both done with Serif Craft Artist software on the computer and a couple of different digi kits.

I don't use this often enough as you can make some really lovely cards with it. They are especially good if you want to post them. As you can get quite a lot of detail in without making the card too thick and heavy.

Right that's all from me today. See you soon and thanks for dropping by again.

Take care

Thursday 2nd January 2014

Morning bloggers. Me again!
We had a lovely day together for the parents anniversary and spent the evening with all the family at Daniel and Staci's new house to see in the new year.  Even the kids managed to stay awake to count down with Jools Holland as we approached midnight ;)

Today I am sharing the first of the anniversary cards I made for Mum and Dad. This one was for John to send them.  He's not a fussy person so something simple but heartfelt was called for.  I think this fit the bill.
The card stock and words are all from a Hunkydory set I bought for Valentines last year.  The card more or less made itself!
I took several of the words from the sentiment sheet and put them together to spell out the message.
Quick and easy but effective. The type of card I should make more of!!

Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2013.   Bring it on 2014, we're ready for you!

So it's a brand new year. 365 empty days waiting for us to fill them with our stories.  What tales will yours tell?  We have had a particular tough few months with family illness, so each day is precious to us.  We are filling them with memories to remember in the years to come.

I intend to fill my days with love, practice patience and try to remember everyone else has their own struggles.  I can't change other people but I can change how I react to them.  I have a few other resolutions for 2014 that have probably been on my list every year since 1985! LOL!  Jen has a few too I'm sure.  What changes are you planning to make?  We would love to hear from you.

That's it then, another year gone.  I hope you get to spend some crafting time this year and that Mr Mojo doesn't desert you like he has us over the last few weeks!

Normal service will resume tomorrow but until then Jen and I would like to wish you all the very best of new years.  May it bring you good health, peace and happiness [and lots of crafty goodies;)]

Lots of love Jude and Jen xx
