Birthday present

Good morning all, hope you are well and having a good week. 

Today's card is a very simple birthday card, that could easily be adapted to a male card, or anniversary or gift card etc. 

The idea came from Pinterest again, and I just adapted it to what I had in the craft stash. I used a 6 x 6 card blank and embossed half of a piece of white card with a daisy embossing folder. Then I used a piece of scrap glitter card to make the present.

The stamp is from the latest Studio Calico set and I heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. 

Then I used a piece of wide silver ribbon for the middle of the card, and a thinner piece of coordinating ribbon for around the present. 

Then I added a little silver bow and a couple of crystal gems to finish it off.

Scott's birthday

Hello again.  Today I have a male birthday card to share with you.

This image is from a Lili of the Valley Art Pad called Action Time.  I love the blue and brown combination so dug through our papers to find something to match.

All the papers are also from an LOTV set called Winter Wishes and are matted with a chocolate brown card.

I used my favourite Lawn Fawn sentiment stamp - again! lol ;)

I intend to send this to our cousin's husband for his birthday on Friday.  Hope he likes it.

Watercoloured flowers

Good morning all, hope you are having a good week so far. As Jude said yesterday it was Mum's birthday at the weekend and this is one of the cards I made for family members to send to her. 

I had another little play at watercolouring with Distress Inks. This time I used Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed and Chipped Sapphire.

I randomly painted the inks on to a piece of watercolour paper with plenty of water, until I had a background that I liked. 

While that was drying, I took a few plain paper flowers and gave them some watercolour treatment too. Then I added a few highlights with a white gel pen.

I watercoloured a second sheet of card with the same colours and then cut some leaves using a Sue Wilson die. 

The quote is a rub-on from a Kaisercraft set, which I thought was lovely. I finished it off with some microbeads in the centre of the flowers.

Window to the world

Good morning all.  Hope you have had a pleasant weekend.  Ours has been very busy with birthdays for two very special people.  

Saturday was our Mum's birthday and this is the card I made her from her youngest grandson, Joe.

I used a couple of dies that I haven't used before - the opening window and city scenes, which I cut down to fit in the window.  The night sky is a denim effect paper which I thought worked well.

The scene is a two part die. I cut one in black and the other in gold to make it look like the windows are backlit.

I cut the window a second time from some patterned paper and used the negative to act like wallpaper.  I then used a sentiment die and cut the words in black card.

I like the effect of all this together but it does make quite a thick and heavy card!

Hi all hope you are well. We have decided to try and take a bit of the pressure off by not posting at the weekends for now. Hopefully this will give us a little more time to create.

Studio calico bunnies

Good morning all, hope you are well.

My Studio Calico kit came yesterday so I've had a quick play with the stamp set.

I love these little bunnies, so I stamped three of them with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then coloured them with Copic Markers.

The sentiment is also from this set and I stamped it with Tangelo Dew Drop Ink.

I added a couple of strips of polkadot washi tape to the corners. 

Then popped it all on to an orange 7 x 5 card blank, and it was done, easy peasy.

Three feathers

Hello again.

I spent yesterday in London for work and as I had to leave very early, I was extremely tired when I got back home.  So tired I really didn't want to make a card or blog!

With some persuasion and an idea from Jen (that she found on Pinterest!) I eventually made this.

I used three papers from Webster's Papers Best Friend collection and cut a feather from each.  I used a piece of bark print paper that came from a Simon Says Stamp card kit and layered it with desert sand card.

The sentiment is also a SSS set called Happy & Smile.  I stamped and embossed this with Ranger Liquid Platinum.

The feathers were then glued above the sentiment.

An easy make for when time and energy are in short supply.
