Simple Male Cards

Good morning all, hope you are ready for a new week. I'm lucky enough to have another week off before I have to go back to work :o)) but poor old Jude has had to go back today :o(( But then again I think I need it, so much for coming home refreshed and ready to get back to some serious crafting. I have so far managed to make the grand total of 1 card since we got back last Thursday! and I can't share that as it's for my Daughter's birthday on Wednesday lol.

So today's post is a couple of simple male cards that I made a few weeks ago.

This one uses an embossing folder for the background and then I used the same embossing folder again on some yellow card.

I cut a piece out and layered it over the top to give the Happy Birthday sentiment. Then I used Spellbinders Gold Corners One to cut a couple of pieces for the corners.

I finished it off with some large yellow sticky numbers.

I got inspiration for this second card from a Google search. I came across a very simple design for a male card which I just altered slightly so suit what I had in my scrap box.

A simple Kraft card blank with a couple of pieces of torn paper on.

Three buttons glued in between them and then finished off with a stamped sentiment.

Both of these were really simple cards to make but still quite effective.

Hope you like them, see you soon.

Take care.

Pretty red dress

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday.

Jen showed you some of our holiday snaps yesterday so I won't bore you with any more lol.  Instead you get to see a simple card I made yesterday.

The image is from Time for Tea and was coloured before we went away.  Luckily I just had to think of a design to put her in.

I took papers from my scrap box and layered them on a red card blank and a black matt.

I then die cut two hearts layered with double sided sticky and added red glitter.

The sentiment was cut with a free die from a craft magazine.

So there she is.  A sweet little image and a simple card.

Enjoy the rest of your day.  TTFN Jude xx

Alghero, Sardinia - Highly recommended

Good morning all. Well we are back from a well earned break and refreshed and ready to get back to some serious crafting lol.  But before we do I thought I would share with you some of the sites from our holiday. As the title says I can highly recommend Alghero in Sardinia if you haven't already been as it is simply stunning.
This was the view from the front of our hotel when we arrived.

Doesn't look too bright but believe me it was very warm and sunny.

As it was Jude's birthday on the day we went, my son D and his girlfriend Staci had arranged for us to go out for a special meal at a local restaurant. They had researched it online and booked a table for us, to have the restaurant speciality; Suckling Pig. It was a four course meal, which started with cold meats and cheeses, with bread. Followed by Pane Fratou, which is a local dish, a lot like lasagna but made with a local bread instead of pasta. Served with a poached egg on top. Absolutely delicious.

Then came the suckling pig, and roast potatoes. There was enough to feed an army never mind four of us lol.

Then a dessert called semi freddo. Really creamy and delicious. It was an absolutely fabulous meal, in a lovely restaurant and we had a really good night.

The next day we went in to the old town which is commonly known as Little Barcelona. It is absolutely beautiful, really old with cobbled streets, hardly any traffic and a really nice atmosphere.

We visited the Cathedral Santa Maria, where we lit a candle for Dad.

The inside was gorgeous and so peaceful. Then we had a good wander around the town exploring all of the little back streets etc.

After a week of doing this almost every day, we were still finding new things and new places to eat and drink.

This is my son and his beautiful girlfriend outside one of the little trattoria's that we had lunch at.

And this was the view from our table. Stunning.

One of the boats in the harbour.

and finally a sunset over the sea.

All in all we had a fantastic time, there is so much to see and so many beautiful places to visit, I'll share more soon.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon.

Take care

We're Back!!

Well the holiday is over and we're back to jolly old Blighty.

As we've been away we haven't yet ventured in to the craft room, so this is a quick card I made before we left.

This type of card is great for using up those scraps we can't bear to part with - just cut lots of different size circles.

Stamp a sentiment in one of the circles, then layer them at different heights.

And that's the simplest of cards.

Thursday 10th July - Homeward bound

Good morning all, well today sees our return home, and I'm quite sure that by now I will be itching to get home. I love going on holiday but when it's time to come home I just want to get there. And seen as how I've been without my hubby this time, I'm pretty sure I'll be very much looking forward to getting back lol.

Today's card is another that I made for Jude's birthday last week.

This one has the Awareness Ribbon Marci digi stamp by La La Land Crafts. I coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out by hand.

The papers are a mixture from the stash, matted with blue and pink card.

The little flowers are some that my son and his girlfriend got me from Thailand last year. I only use them very occasionally as I don't want to use them all up lol.

I stamped the sentiment with black Archival ink and matted it with more blue card. Then I added it to the card on a large foam pad and added a small paper clip to the top.

I finished the card with a little pink ribbon and a couple of enamel dots.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Purple power

Wednesday again and our holiday is almost over - boo hoo!

Here is a card I made just before we left home last week lol.

This is yet another Saturated Canary image called Pocket Valentine. I'm really loving the purple combos at the minute so here's another.

I added a few flowers and bits too :)

So there she is.  What do you think?

Tuesday 8th July - Daughter Card

Good morning all, as you know it was Jude's birthday last week, and this is the card I made for Mum to send her.

I used 4 little cards with decorated fronts, that came back from Thailand with my son last year.

I stamped on the front of the card and then, inside each little card I added some letters or words to make up the sentence.

'Birthday wishes for a special daughter with love'.

It's a really simple card but I was pleased with how it turned out. Hope you like it too.

Take care.
