Painting on black card

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Well today's the day we're off to sunny Spain. Wish me luck !!!!!

Today's card was an experiment in painting on black card stock. I used the Organic Blooms stamp from Mama Elephant and stamped it around a piece of card with Versamark ink. Then I heat embossed it with Ranger Fine Detail Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder.

I used Gansai Tambi watercolour paints and found that the richer colours gave the best results. I also used very little water in parts so that the colours were stronger.

I added an Indigo Blu Happy Birthday sentiment stamp to the middle and heat embossed it with Fine Detail True White embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer.

Then I added it all to an A6 card base and added a few random matte gold sequins.

Monkey business

Good morning all.  This is my last post before we head off on holiday and Jen takes over the blog with the gazillion cards she has in draft! Lol :)

Last weekend Jen's daughter Kayleigh celebrated her 28th birthday.  This is the card I made.

I used a piece of raspberry cardstock as the background and added a die cut made with the stitched border trio set from Mama Elephant.  I was going to cut the cloud effect border for the top but then remembered some small card blanks we have with a decorative edge.  I thought one of these was perfect for the top of the card.

The monkey and balloons are both from Mama Elephants Up and Away stamp and die set.

I used Copic markers to colour them then used the matching dies to cut them out.  The sentiment is also from this set.

A few sparkly diamante dots finish it off nicely.

Have a Beautiful Day

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Apologies for the lack of post on Friday but we had a bit of a medical emergency. Our Mum was taken ill late Thursday night with severe chest pains and ended up in the hospital. Six hours later she eventually got to see a doctor! after many tests, chest x-rays, MRI's with dye, she was eventually diagnosed with Pleurisy. Luckily she's now home and on the mend with some high dose painkillers. 

Today's card is the one I made to send to my daughter who's birthday was on Saturday. I used one of the new stamp sets that Jude got for her birthday called Beautiful Day from Altenew.

I used the new inks Jude also got, these are from Hero Arts and they are by Kelly Purkey. 

They don't have individual colour names but they are the mini cubes that come in sets of four. We have the Urban Ink, Coffee and Donuts and the Fashion Ink sets,

I used a soft Kraft card for the main image this time for a bit of a softer look. 

The sentiment is from the MFT Happy Everything set, I die cut the Happy twice, once with black card stock and then with fun foam for dimension. 

I glued the two layers together and then covered them with Clear Wink of Stella for lots of sparkle. Then I added a few coordinating enamel dots to finish it off.

Wedding Wishes

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. I am definitely in holiday worry mode now lol. That is for the couple of weeks before we go on holiday I start worrying about flying, leaving the pets, flying, forgetting something, flying, not being ready etc. etc. etc. You get the gist ;o))

But never mind, today I have a very sparkly and shiny card to share with you. I made this for a friend at work who got married last week. 

I used a Silhouette Studio image and altered it to be a solid image in plain black. I added the couple's names and wedding date to the bottom and a couple of bows too. 

Then I printed it on the laser printer and ran it through the Minc machine using Decofoil gold foil.

I used a white A5 card blank and then cut layers in white and a soft gold card to frame the image. 

Then I added string pearls around the edge and a pearl trim to the top and bottom.

That still was not sparkly enough for me so I added lots of tiny jewels and pearls to the brides veil, and finished the card with a couple of gold hearts with red inserts for a pop of colour.

Flying high

Hello again.

Today's card is actually a remake.  I made this for a couple of birthdays a while ago and forgot to photograph it, so this is the third version.  Also Jen threw tea all over one of them so I had to send something else entirely!

I used Simon Says Stamp card kit from May, which was called Showered with Love.

The stamping was done on scraps from my ever growing stash on my desk and added to a piece of blue cardstock.

I used the cloud effect die from the stitched border trio from Mama Elephant and added a sentiment from Party Animals by Lawn Fawn.

Nannies little bunnies

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is the one I made for Jude's granddaughters to give to her on her birthday last week. 

Again inspiration for this card came from Pinterest, but I changed it up a little to suit what I needed it for. Jude's granddaughter's are her little bunnies (Warren is their surname) so I made sure it had two bunnies on the front.

The background is made using the MFT Vertical stars die, which I angled across the page. I coloured a piece of plain card in the colours that I used for the balloon to sit behind the stars to show through.

The balloon, clouds and bunnies are from the WPlus9 set Going Places. I stamped them with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Then I coloured them with Copic Markers.

The balloon I did in two layers. The bottom one is white card which I coloured then I put a vellum layer over the top.

I raised the images up on foam pads and added translucent sequins to the background. Then I used my tiny alphabet punches to punch 'Nanny' to finish it off.

Super colleague

Morning friends and welcome to another crafty week.

This week is all about prepping for our holiday so crafting is actually not uppermost in my mind for a change!  Still I managed to put together a super leaving card for a super work colleague.

I started by blending two inks from the new Simon Says Stamp July card kit.  These are Goldenlocks and Steel Blue.  I then used a star stencil to add a heavier layer of colour and splashed with black ink.

The super heroes are from a Clearly Besotted set called Caped Cuties.  I love this set and one day will manage to get hold of the matching dies so I don't have to fussy cut them!!  I coloured with Copic markers and for once made a note of what I used.

The rabbit: C2, 3 & 5, Y02 & 08 and R20

The mouse: C1, 2 & 5, YR7, R05, 20 & 27 

The dog: YR31, E33 & 35, B24, 27 & 29.

I then added some detail with a white Signo gel pen.

I finished off by adding a sentiment from the set and heat embossed a second on a strip of vellum which I wrapped around the background.  This was then all added to a white card blank.
