Vintage Birthday

Good morning all, I hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. Today's card was a really simple make, and one that I will be repeating for other male birthdays.

I used stamps from a Creative Stamping Magazine set, Issue 70, called Ladies and Gentlemen. I stamped the image and sentiment onto a piece of plain white card, using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I cut the panel down to size using an MFT Stamps Stitched Rectangle Die, and then used Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to blend around the edges inwards, to 'age' the card a bit.

Then I added this to a copper coloured note card to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Green silhouette

Hello again.
My cards for the next few days will all be made using my current favourite stamp set - Dainty Bouquet by Altenew.

This is a gorgeous delicate flower set which can be layered to create realistic blossoms, or stamped in one colour for a silhouette effect.

For this card I stamped the largest of the images using parrot ink from Altenew. I then inked a piece of white card with this ink to create a matted layer for the sentiment.

The sentiment, from Hero Arts, was stamped in the same ink and die cut with a stitched circle die.

I cut the long edges to make the panel narrower and added the piece to a green card base.

Hope you like it.

Make a Wish

Good morning all, and happy hump day. I hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card is one I made for my niece's husband for his birthday. I wanted something not too fussy, but not boring either lol. So this is what I came up with.

I used an older Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit stamp set called Big Birthday Wishes, and stamped the word Yay! all over a piece of dark grey card, using Industrial Diamond Crisp Dye Ink from Altenew.

I used more stamps from the same set for the sentiments and candle, but this time I stamped them on white card with Onyx Black Versafine Ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.

I cut the large sentiment in half so that I could slightly offset them, and added a candle from the same set in place of the I in Wish. Then I added the rest of the sentiment underneath. I placed these onto a couple of  silver Zig Zag Stitched Circle die-cuts from MFT Stamps, and then added it all to a pale grey note card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Dandelion wishes

Hello and welcome.
I hope our UK friends had a good bank holiday yesterday, and our US friends had an enjoyable memorial weekend.

Today's card is for a very special little girl (my great niece!) who celebrates her seventh birthday today.  Happy birthday Izzy Lou!

For this card I started with the Hero Arts starry sky background stamp in Altenew dusk ink. I created my panel and added a strip of grass along the bottom using an MFT die.

I stamped, coloured and die cut the mouse and mushroom images from Hero Arts December 2018 My Monthly Hero kit, then added them using foam squares.

I used a sentiment from the same set and cut this with a flag banner die, before adhering the whole piece to a standard white card base.
Hope you like it.

It's a Girl

Good morning all, and happy Friday, I hope you have had a great week. Today's card was one I made when my daughter was having Willow. In the end this one didn't get used, but it's a nice one to have on hand for work colleagues etc.

I had seen something similar on Pinterest using a stocking die to make a baby boys card, so I looked through my stash to find something I could use.

I found the perfect thing in my Christmas stash, the Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmouse set. I used one of the dies from the set to cut the stocking from cream and pink striped card.  Then I paper-pieced the stripe on top of the cream to look like little baby booties.

I cut a white card panel using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die, and heat embossed a greeting on to this using the Avery Elle City Celebrations stamp set, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink.

I added fun foam to the back of the panel, and tied a piece of ribbon around the top. This was just a small piece I had left over from a few years ago, which says it's a girl!

Then I added this on to a pink mat, and used some paper from the stash as a background, before adding it all to a white card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and have a great weekend, and I'll see you next week.

The swing

Hello.
I'm back with another card made for my son-in-law's birthday last week.

For this I used a Hero Arts background die cut from black card stock.

I ink blended the background using distress oxides, directly on to a standard white card base.

I heat embossed the sentiment on some more black card and added this with foam tape.

I decided not to add any further embellishments as I don't think the card needs anything.
What do you think?

Have an Ace Birthday

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card was one I was really happy with, until..... The background ink dried completely!!! I used a pale grey Altenew ink from the Rock Collection, to stamp a hand of cards stamp onto grey card, and it looked really good, so I went on and finished my card.

Then it dried overnight and the background stamping is so feint, you can barely see it, in fact I couldn't get the camera to pick it up very much at all. Oh well I will know better next time lol.

I used an old pack of cards and took the Aces from it to make my focal point, then I silver heat embossed a sentiment from a couple of older Creative Stamping Magazine sets, onto black card, and cut this into small pieces to position over the top.

Thank you for spending some time here today, take care and I'll see you soon.

Circles and rings

Hello again.
Today's card was made for my son-in-law's birthday last week. This one was from my youngest son, Joe.

I collected together a few stamp sets which all had circular images.  I used sets from Simon Says Stamp, Uniko, and Hero Arts.

I stamped each image on to a piece of white card using different colours of Distress Oxide.
Once I had covered the card I trimmed it down and attached to a card base made from a co-ordinating colour.  This one is Simon's Audrey blue.

I cut the numbers from another piece of the same card using Papermania carnival numbers, and attached them using foam pads.
I then added some Nuvo shimmer pen over the top.

The finishing touch was the sentiment heat embossed with Nuvo glacier white and some caribbean ocean crystal drops.
Hope you like it.

Sending Sunshine

Good morning all, how about something bright and cheery for a Monday morning? I thought seen as how the weather can't make it's mind up in my little neck of the woods, I would send you all a bit of sunshine.

Today's card came about after an alcohol ink play session. I was making backgrounds and decided to try some brighter colours, so this one is using Tim Holtz and Adirondack/Ranger Alcohol Inks in  oranges and yellows with gold mixative on Yupo paper.

The daffodils are Altenew dies that came free with a Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine earlier this year. I cut the flowers from different coloured card and I added Seaweed Quartz Nuvo Glimmer Paste to the stems.

I cut the panel to size with a Stitched Rectangle die, and added my flowers to the front using wet glue and foam tape for dimension, then I added a stacked die-cut sentiment in black card over the top.

I stamped and heat embossed part of the greeting on the front, and then finished it off on the inside. Then I added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in English Mustard and Ripened Pumpkin, and Limoncello Jewel Drops to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Have a Wonderful Day

Good morning folks, and happy Friday. I hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to a crafty weekend.

Today's card was a lot of fun to make and I will be making more of these. I started by using a firework stencil from Simon Says Stamp and spreading Nuvo Glimmer Paste through it, on to a plain white card panel.

Once the paste was dry, I used Distress Oxide Inks over the top to create a deep blue sky effect. I just used a dry cloth to take any excess ink off of the glimmer paste.

I cut a Crafti Potential - Wonderful Sentiment Die and Surround, from white linen and silver linen card, and added these to my panel using foam tape. Then I stamped the rest of the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and added this above and below my die-cut.

I cut the panel down to size using a stitched rectangle die, and added it to a plain white note card. Then I added in a few drops of Nuvo Atlantic Drift Glitter Accents to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
