75th Birthday Card

Good morning all. I hope you are having a good week so far. I am back to work today after 2 weeks off, but what I really want to do is sit in my craft room and play 😏 lol.

Today's card is one I made for my mum for a friend's birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't hear the bit of the conversation where she told me it was a he, not a she!!!!! So after spending time creating this, I then had to quickly alter a different card that was more suitable lol.

I used the papers and dies from the Simon Says Stamp Brushstroke Messages Card Kit from October 2017. I love this kit as it is so versatile, and the flowers and leaves look very different if cut from different papers.

I first wrote the sentiment on my PC, and printed it with the laser printer, and then foiled it with the Minc Machine, using Decofoil Rose Gold Foil.

Then I cut this out with a Stitched Rectangle die, and I laid 3 strips of white card in different widths diagonally across, using 3 layers of each for dimension. Then I placed thin strips of copper card in between.

I arranged my flowers and leaves to one side of the card strips using glue and foam tape, and then popped it all on a plain card blank. I did consider a scattering of sequins, but in the end decided to leave it quite simple.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Strips

Thank you for being with us today.

Please excuse the picture quality.  I'm struggling to get the light right in our craft room on the darker evenings!

Today's card came from an idea I found on Pinterest (albertascloset.com)
It is very simple and as I was looking for masculine card ideas this really fit the bill.

I used a strip of scrap card from our stash and cut apart the different layers in it.  This was I ended up with several strips of differing width.

I stamped the sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes by Simon Says Stamp using memento black ink.
I then used a liquid glue to add the strips above and below the sentiment.

I think this is a great way to use up card scraps.  What do you think?

Beautiful flowers

Hello again

Today I have another card made using my favourite Simon Says Stamp floral image.  This is the Beautiful Flowers stamp from the June card kit.

This time I embossed in black on watercolour paper and coloured in with my Zig Clean Colour markers.
I love the depth of vibrant colour in this version.

When the image was complete I  added a light grey shadow all around the edge.  I then fussy cut around it so I could add my flowers to a grey card blank.

I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Navy Blue to add some interest around the image and called it complete.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Nuts about you

Good morning all, yes you have me again today, as Jude is off in the 'Big Smoke' for work, so she'll be back with you tomorrow.

Today's card is one that I made for my hubby's birthday last week. We both love squirrels, so this card was very appropriate.

I used the stamp set from Creative Stamping magazine, issue 60, and combined it with a set from Simon Says Stamp, called Nutty over You.

I embossed a circle on to the centre of a 4x4 piece of white card, and then stamped some small leaves and berries around the edge using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.

I stamped the squirrel with Versamark ink and then embossed it with Nuvo Embossing Powder in Copper Blush.

Then I added a few stick on acorns and sequins before matting it with a coloured card, and adding it to a 5x5 note card.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

White Heat Embossing on Bright Card

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card is one I made a few weeks ago, but never got around to sharing. It uses the Simon Says Stamp set Beautiful Flowers.

I used a bright pink card, and stamped the flower image with Versamark ink, and then heat embossed it with Wow white embossing powder.

I love the look of white embossing on bright or dark card, and I think it looks gorgeous on the bright pink.

I used a Crafters Companion Female Sentiment for the main sentiment, and the Happy Birthday is from the SSS Beautiful Flowers set too.

I cut the panel out using an MFT Stitched Rectangle Blueprints die, and added it to a white note card. Then it just needed a few black pearls to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Happy Bird-day

Hello everyone.  Thank you for being here with us.

My card today is another made with items from my scrap and leftovers box.
I stamped this bird from the Hero Arts February kit when I first got it, but didn't need it for the cards I made.

For this card I added a black dot for an eye and some Nuvo shimmer pen for some glitter.  It doesn't show up that well on camera unfortunately.

I added the image to a die cut circle and free hand cut a small branch for the bird to sit on.

The finishing touch was a white embossed sentiment from the same stamp kit on a piece of textured black card.  I added the whole thing to a 4" x 4" white note card.
That's all for today.  See you soon.

Blue Carnival

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good weekend. Jude and I have had a few hours organising some of the crafty stash this weekend, but still LOTS to do. lol

Today's card uses the My Monthly Hero Kit for July 2018 from Hero arts. I stamped some of the images on white Vellum paper and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.

I then coloured them on the back with Copic Markers, and cut them out with their matching dies.

I used the large sun ray cover plate die that comes with the set for the background, cut in a blue card, and put this onto a cream base.

Then I used one of my alcohol ink backgrounds that I recently made using Yupo paper, and cut a small label shape using a nesting die set.

I matted the shape with the larger size die using white card, and then arranged my images on the front of the label.

I used a Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die for the sentiment, and cut it from white card and the alcohol ink background, slightly offsetting them so you can see the dimension.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
