Golden Wedding Anniversary

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to the start of the long Easter weekend. 

Today's card was one I made last week for my aunt and uncle's Golden Wedding Anniversary. I took inspiration from Pinterest to make an acetate window card, and used dies from my Tonic Studio's Craft Kits for the design.

I started by making my card base using white hammered 300gsm card and heavy weight acetate. I sandwiched the acetate in between 2 layers of the card to hide any adhesive.

The bird die is from Tonic Craft Kit 16, and the Anniversary die is from Kit 17. I cut the bird die twice, once from the white card and once from gold card, then I added them to the acetate back to back to hide the adhesive, and I swapped the little hearts in the middle around for contrast.

I finished the card off with a simple sentiment, made up with a stamp from Crafti Potential's Wonderful Die/Stamp combo and 50 cut with an old magazine numbers die.

Shaker Window Birthday Wishes

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good start to your week. Today's card was made using the Tonic Craft Kit 13 from August/September 2018.

The kit is designed to be used to make a small gift card folder and pouch, but I just used one of the decorative dies to make a shaker window.

I cut the window twice from white card stock and then cut the panels down to fit an A2 card, using an MFT Stamps Blueprint Dienamics Stitched Rectangle Die. Then I stacked the panels together for stability.

I added a small piece of acetate behind the die-cut and then used some of the stamps from the same kit and an Altenew Crisp Dye ink in Silver Stone, to stamp a random star pattern on to the front.

I added foam tape to the panel and put some silver card behind the window, then filled the shaker section with some Polka Dot sequins from Studio Katia and others from the stash. Then I finished it off by adding a few silver stars to the front.

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit

Friday at last!

Hello and thank you for joining us.

I'm using another Tonic craft set for my card.  This one is set no 14.

I made a birthday card using this set for our 'baby' brother who is 39 today 😄  

This one is from his nephew, Joe. Happy birthday John P!!

I cut three of the bunny die from various gold card stocks and stacked them together.  I made a panel of brown card and gold heat embossed the sentiment 'some bunny just wanted to say'. Inside I added Happy Birthday!

I took a piece of paler card to matt the panel on to and added both to a cream card base.  I then decided I didn't like all the negative space around my focal panel.  

I took the heart stamps from the set and gold heat embossed these around the centre section.

I think this is a sweet little card and hope you do too.

Leaves

Hello.  I'm back today with a simple card made using Tonic Craft kit no14.

We get this set each month and it contains loads of great Tonic products, however I rarely use the stamps and dies!  I decided to rectify that by cutting loads of the leaves from this cut from various brown, bronze and gold card.

I stamped the sentiment from the set using Memento ink in Rich Cocoa and arranged the leaves around it to get an idea for how many were needed.

Once I had a layout I adhered the leaves using Nuvo deluxe adhesive.  I highly recommend trying this if you haven't already.  It is a really sticky glue and grabs quite quickly but still allows some wiggle room.

Once I had my arrangement sorted I trimmed the panel and matted it with a golden brown cardstock from the stash, before adding to a cream card base.

Among the trees

Hello and welcome.

Today I have a single Christmas card to share with you.

When I saw this stunning blue glimmer paper in the Tonic Craft kit recently, I immediately thought of this idea.  However it has taken me a while to actually get around to doing it!

I started by inking a background scene using distress oxides in Tumbled Glass and Iced Spruce.  I used both colours for the wintry sky but just the blue for the snow banks.

The silhouette of trees and the deer came from some magazine freebies and I think they work wonderfully.  I wanted the images dark but not black so I stamped both using Versafine majestic blue, then using a second impression Versafine onyx black over the top.  I then blended a little more distress oxide ink over the trees to make them seem more distant.

The frame came from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit from May.  I cut this from the blue shimmer card and then removed the swing that was originally in the middle.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out.  Hope you like it too.

Lots of Love

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today's card was made with the Tonic Craft Kit no 12, which is full of autumn leaves.

To start with I arranged lots of the leaves on to a piece of white card, around the sentiment die. Then I ran the card through the Gemini leaving the blank space in the center. I also ran a few of the smaller dies through with scrap card to add in as accents. 

I cut the panel out with a Stitched Rectangle Die from an MFT Stamps Blueprints Dienamics set, and then added an alcohol ink background behind it.

The background was made with a few different shades of alcohol ink, plus a copper mixative on to textured card. This doesn't get the movement like shiny card or Yupo paper does, but it's good for stripes etc.

I stamped the sentiment and die cut it, then placed it in the center of my leaves. Then I arranged the smaller leaves around and added them with foam pads. Then to finish it off, I put it onto a blue note card, and added small droplets of Sea Breeze and Auburn Pearl Nuvo Jewel and Crystal Drops.
