Chill out and relax

Good morning folks, I hope you are having a great week so far. I know we have already made a start on the Christmas cards, but I'm not quite willing to give up the warmer weather yet. So today's card is all about that summer feeling.

For this card I used a stamp set from Creative Stamping magazine, issue 59, called Summer Holiday.

I stamped the main images onto plain white card and then stamped them again onto post-it notes to make masks. I cut the masks out by hand and then added them over my images so I could ink the background.

I used Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Inks, to make my sky and sandy backdrop.

Then I removed the masks and coloured the images with Copic Markers.

I added a sentiment that came with the image stamps, and then cut the panel with a Stitched Rectangle die from MFT Stamps Dienamics Blueprints 13. Then I added it to a bright yellow note card to finish.

Christmas ideas

Hello and welcome.

I'm still thinking of ideas for Christmas cards.  I've spent A LOT of time on Pinterest looking for inspiration.

A couple of pins reminded me that we have loads of papers left from previous Simon Says Stamp Christmas card kits, so this week I will be using some of these for cards.

This first card is very quick and easy.  I took a piece of pre-printed paper and added puffy stickers from the same set.  These were part of the December 2015 Christmas kit.

I added some stars from the kit to highlight the words.

I added the panel to a red card base and called it finished.  This was so easy to make.

Koala-ty Birthday

Good morning all, and happy Friday, I hope you have all had a great week and are looking forward to a crafty weekend.

Today's card is one I made for my son-in-law's birthday last month. I used the stamp set from Creative Stamping Issue 57, called Go Wild.

I stamped the main image with Onyx Black Versafine ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. 

Then I used Olympia Green Versafine Ink to stamp the leaves, and heat embossed those the same way.

I coloured the rest of the image with Copic Markers, including the background.

Then I 'adapted' three of the sentiment stamps that came with the set to make up the birthday greeting, and popped it onto a teal coloured note card.

Winter trees

Hello again.

I'm still playing with some ideas for batch making cards for Christmas.

These cards all use the same stamp set from Creative Stamping magazine issue 62.  This set is called Winter Woodland and has some lovely images.

This first one is stamped in Memento  London Fog ink.

For the others I wanted more impact so I stamped the trees in Versamark and finished with embossing powder.  This one uses Aventurine from Wow.

I used Wow Parissa for this bronze version and Malachite Fire from Cosmic Shimmer for the last one.  I also added a Distress Oxide background using Stormy Sky.

These were quite quick and easy to make so I will add this idea to the list of possibilities.

Anniversary Cafe

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far. Today's card is one I made for an anniversary using the August 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit, from Hero Arts.

I used the main background die and cut it from white card, blue card, textured card, and a striped paper. Then I cut a frame around the white version with a Stitched Rectangle die from MFT stamps.

I used the off-cuts from the blue and patterned pieces to fill in the window and the canopy, then I added the off-cuts from the textured pieces to fill in the wall area at the bottom, behind the table and chairs.

I coloured the rest of the white images with Copic Markers and then added a small piece of black card to the sign, and stamped a simple sentiment onto black card with Versamark ink and white heat embossed it.

I popped the whole thing onto a light Kraft note card and added the sentiment on foam tape for a bit of added dimension.

Christmas? Already??

I'm back!!  Bet you didn't even notice I was gone, lol.

Since I got home I've been thinking about the huge amount of Christmas cards I need to make and thought I'd start playing with some ideas.

For this one I copied an idea from Jennifer McGuire using small stamps.  The idea is to make the sentiment the focal point and fill in around with the small stamps.

I love this idea but I think I would use more muted colours next time.  It is also quite a lot of work so probably not one I would batch make.

I think it turned out really well.  What do you think?

Hedgehugs and Kisses

Good morning folks, and welcome to October, I hope you have had a good weekend, and managed to fit some crafty time in.

Today's card was made using the stamp set Autumnal Treasures, from Issue 60 of Creative Stamping magazine.

I stamped the hedgehog and leaves onto plain white card with Versamark ink, and heat embossed it with Wow Parissa Embossing Powder. This powder has lots of different colours in it, including bronze, silver, and gold. So very autumnal.

I cut myself a mask from a post-it note and then blended a background using, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, and Tea Dye, Distress Oxide Inks, which I then splattered with water and a bit of gold glimmer mist.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers, and cut the panel out with a stitched rectangle die from MFT, before adding a heat embossed sentiment on dark brown card.
