Embossed with love

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week. I am continuing this weeks theme of Embossing, but today I'm highlighting dry embossing using an embossing folder.

I chose the materials for today's card so that the embossing would really stand out, so although I won't say it's my favourite combination, I don't think it turned out too badly.

I started by putting a piece of an XCut Adhesive Metal Effect Sheet in to an flower border 6 x 4 embossing folder, not sure where this one came from, so it was probably a magazine freebie.

I ran it through the Bigshot and then i cut around the shaped border so that I could place it on a black note card and you would see some of the card behind. I just wanted to make sure there was plenty of the black on show to calm down the bright gold metal effect.

I added the Altenew Layering Die Cut Roses, which I had cut from black and gold cardstock, using foam pads, and teamed them with a few die cut leaves also in black card.

Then to finish the card, I cut a sentiment using Clearly Besotted word dies and added this to the front using a glue pen.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Blooms fill-in

Hello and thank for joining us.  Excuse the pictures in today's post.  I took them at night so they aren't the best!

I'm back today with another card on the theme of embossing.  This time it is a sentiment and a failed attempt at partial embossing that I managed to salvage (but only just) lol.

I used the fabulous blooms fill-in die from Concord and 9th for the main body of the card.  I used various coloured inks from Altenew to stamp the flowers. I then tried to add Versamark just to the centres and dotted areas of the flowers, and the small leaf branches.

I did this with a Versamark pen but when I added the embossing powder and heat set it, it looked really bad!  It didn't make the statement I wanted so I ended up adding gold liquid pearls over the top of the flowers but I couldn't do anything about the leaves.  Luckily it doesn't show up too much ;)

The sentiment is a long strip stamp from Simon Says Stamp.  I embossed it with gold powder and cut into three smaller sections.  I wanted something a little different and I think this works.  What do you think?

See you again on Friday.  TTFN Jude xx

Hoopy Birthday

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are having a good start to your week. I am continuing this week's theme of embossing, this time with heat embossing.

For today's card I used images from issue 56 of Creative Stamping magazine. All of the images in this stamp set have a sport theme, and they also include some punny sentiments.

I chose the basket ball stamps for this card, and started by heat embossing the hoop and net stamp with Onyx Black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder.

For the basketballs, I stamped them with Wow slow drying embossing ink, and then added Wow Metalline Flame Embossing Powder. This is one of the colours that came with the Spring Fling Members Kit.

I stamped one of the basketballs separately, and cut it out with a 1 1/4 inch circle punch. Then I added it in the hoop using foam pads to raise it.

I used one of the sentiments from the stamp set, and embossed the Hoopy in the same Metalline Embossing Powder and added the Birthday with Black Versafine ink.

Then I added the panel to a burnt orange note card using double sided adhesive sheets and some fun foam for dimension.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Embossed background

Welcome back on this fine and sunny Monday.  Hope you've had a good weekend?

You may have noticed that we have had a theme for each of the past two weeks.  Well this week is no different!
Instead of using products from just one stamp company we will be focusing on.......EMBOSSING.

For today's card I have used a scroll design from the Mr and Mrs set by Clearly Besotted.  I stamped this on white card with Versamark ink and added Simon Says Stamp's rose gold embossing powder.

I cut down the panel and added it to a piece of embossed card.  From the paper stash I found a sheet of sentiments and cut one of these for the focal point.

To finish up I added a bit of shimmer pen to the sentiment.  Unfortunately it doesn't show up well on camera.

Hope you like my card.  I'll be back Wednesday with another.

Clean and Simple

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week. I finally have my voice back, although it did take until yesterday to finally start sounding a bit more normal lol.

Today's card concludes our Simon Says Stamp kit week, and for today I have made a card using the Brushstrokes Messages stamp set that came with the October 2017 kit.

I stamped 3 of the main brush stroke images using Distress Oxide inks in Broken China, Peacock Feather and Blueprint Sketch.

Once these were dry I used two of the thinner stamps to heat emboss a couple of lines in between the blue images, using Versamark ink, and Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold Embossing Powder.

Then I used a sentiment stamp from the same set and heat embossed that in the same rose gold powder across the centre. Then I popped it onto a blue note card and it was all finished.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon

Masculine card design

Hello!  Yes you've got me back again. Sorry about that 😁

My card for today uses paper and a stamp from Simon alongside some bits from my stash.

My son-in-law has a birthday next week so I was looking for a card design that I could use for him.
Graphic designs always seem to work well so I went with that idea.

I cut the blue background, the shaped patterned paper and the border strip using MFT blueprints #15.
I really like how the circles soften the hard edges but still keep the boldness of the design.

The sentiment is from the Brush Stroke Messages set which was in the October 2017 monthly kit.  I heat embossed it in bright gold to match the accent strip.

I think this is a clean but fun look for a masculine card.  What do you think?

Wedding wishes

Hello everyone.  Thank you for joining us again today.

I'm continuing this week's theme of using products from Simon Says Stamp.

This is a very simple card using a beautiful piece of paper from the March kit.
I cut it out with a stitched rectangle, which is almost the size of an A2 card base.

As soon as I saw this paper I thought of a summer wedding, so I looked back through some older Simon kits for this sentiment.  This is from the Congratulations stamp set which was in the May 2015 kit.

I heat embossed the sentiment using copper embossing powder then decided to add the same colour to the edge of the card base.  This way you get a hint of the colour in the background to tie the card together.

To finish off I hunted through the stash for these copper seed beads.  I thought they would be perfect as centres for the flowers.  What do you think?
