Anniversary wishes

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week, and are looking forward to the weekend. Today's card is the one I made for my hubby Alan, for our 17th Wedding Anniversary earlier this month.

I used a heart stencil that came in one of my Wow Embossing members kits, and inked through it with Distress Oxide Inks.

I used Cracked Pistachio, Fossilized Amber and Squeezed Lemonade inks, just for a change of colour, as I do a lot of blue and pink etc.

I love this little heart and think the ombre ink effect really works well with it. I then cut the panel out using an Avery Elle Wonky Stitched Ellements die.

I used the Altenew Family Matters stamp set to create the first part of the sentiment, and then added the 'happy anniversary' using a Clearly Besotted stamp set called, Happy Anniversary.

I stamped the sentiments with Onyx Black Versafine ink, and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you next week.

Hearts

Hello again.  Hope you are having a good week.

Today's card is nice and simple!

I used the heart stencil from Simon Says Stamps January kit.  I taped this to a sheet of card and covered it well with Versamark.
I then added coloured embossing powder and set it with my heat gun.

I repeated this for the second heart using a different colour and cut out both hearts with scissors.

I cut several of the sentiment dies and stacked them together before adding to my card.
I adhered one die cut flat and the second on foam squares.

This was a really easy card but I like it :)

Birthday Fishes

Good morning all I Hope you are having a good week. Today's card was made using issue 36 of Die Cutting Essentials magazine.

I started with the background and used Alcohol Inks and a felt blender to swipe different shades of blue across glossy photo paper. I also added in a little touch of Silver Mixative, to give it a bit of shine.

Then once the panel was dry I cut a circle using a Zig Zag Stitched Circle die from MFT Stamps.

I had a great time die-cutting loads of the sea critters, shells, starfish, and seaweed out of different scraps of card, and then basing my design on one of the ideas in the magazine, I came up with this.

Don't you just love those colours? I love playing with alcohol inks, and think the effect really suits water based themes.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you like the card, take care and I'll see you soon.

Anniversary flowers

Welcome to our little blog.  Thank you for joining us today.

It's a Bank Holiday here in the UK so we are supposed to be having a restful extra day off work.  That isn't happening as there is still packing to be done before our holiday!

We don't have a theme as such this week but all my cards will be ones made for Jen and Alan's wedding anniversary last week.

I made this background a while ago and was saving it for a special occasion - this was it :)
All I had to do was cut the anniversary several times from gold and white card and stack them together.

The background is an Altenew flower gold embossed and coloured with Zig watercolour markers.
I then stamped a small happy and cut it out to add to the sentiment.

The finishing touch was to add some gold liquid pearls.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Happy Birthday Flowers

Good morning crafty friends, and happy Friday. I hope you have all had a good week, and are looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend.

Today's card is the last in our floral theme for this week, and is made with this flower wreath/basket die set, from Die Cutting Essentials magazine.

I started by stamping a floral background stamp on to white card using Versamark Ink, then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder, and used Distress Ink to blend over the embossed pattern.

I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Square Die to cut the panel down, and then added a larger stitched square panel behind it in Kraft card.

I cut the wreath shape and the extra flowers a couple of times in Kraft card, and then again in white card, and layered them onto my pink panel.

Then I added a die-cut sentiment, using the Happy that came with this set and a Birthday die from Cut N Make on a Lawn Fawn Banner.

Then I added it all to a 5 x 5 Kraft card blank and finished it with a few drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Kind flowers

Hello again.  Hope you're having a good week.

My card today is made using a Simon Says Stamp monthly kit from November 2017.

I gold heat embossed the sentiment on to watercolour card and coloured it with my Gansai Tambi paints.

Once completely dry I cut the panel down to just short of an A2 card base.  I then added two strips of gold glitter card to the edges as a border.

To complete my card I added some gold liquid pearls to the centre of the flowers, some of the dots in the stamped image, and a few extra around the design.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Best Birthday Ever

Good morning all, I hope you are having a good week so far. I am continuing the floral theme today with this birthday card that uses a floral background die.

The floral background in the centre of my card, is cut from an XCut large background die called Floral Filigree Background. I die cut it using a heavy weight white card, and just used a small piece of it for the centre of my card.

I used a dark pink card behind it and then white card on the top and bottom. Then I layered this on to a pale pink note card.

The large sentiment die cut, is from Lil Inker Designs, as is the white heat embossed sentiment, the rest of the sentiment came from a Honey Bee Stamps set called Happiness.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Say it with flowers

Thank you for visiting us today.  I'm back to share my latest card following our theme for the week - florals.

This card uses two stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp.  The sentiment is from the April monthly kit and the flowers from the May one.

I stamped the flowers and leaves using the two inks that also came in the May kit.  These are Spring Rain and Melon hybrid inks.

Once I had stamped them I fussy cut them which took me ages!  If I do this again I will use a much thinner card stock as the one I used had very little flex.  That's why you can see crease marks in some of the flowers.

I took a piece of cream card and stamped my sentiment using Versafine black ink.  I then arranged the flowers and leaves around it.

Hunting through the stash I found a card base that matched perfectly.  The finishing touches were some Ranger stickles in mint ice and tidings.

I love how this looks and hope you do too.  TTFN Jude xx

Belated birthday wishes

Good morning folks, I do hope you have had a good weekend, and the weather has been as nice for you as it has for us. This week on the blog, we thought we would focus on florals, so here is my first take on this theme.

As I had been playing with the Brushstroke Messages stamp set from Simon Says Stamp last week, and it was still on my desk, I decided to make another card, but this time using the patterned paper that went with the set.

After A LOT of searching, I eventually found the little flower die, that also came in the October 2017 SSS kit, and I cut quite a few flowers from the papers, and used some Sue Wilson and Marianne Creative dies for the leaves.

This card was for a young lady at work, who we only found out after the event that it had been her birthday. Hence the Belated message on the inside of the card, which is from the Avery Elle set called, Handwritten Notes.

I used part of a sentiment from the Brushstroke messages set on the tag on the front, by masking off the other half before I inked it. Then I heat embossed it with SSS Steel Navy Embossing Powder.

I added a few sequins to the front to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Wishing you

Friday at last and the last day of our embossing week.  Today is also Jen's 17th wedding anniversary so my card for today is one I made for her and Alan.

I hope you will join me in saying Happy Anniversary
to the best sister and brother-in-law in the world!

I made this card using a Tonic stamp set and three different metallic embossing powders.

I stamped my sentiment first to make sure I left enough space around it.

For the background I stamped a couple of shapes from the It's Party Time set.  I used several Altenew inks and kept to a muted colour palette, using various shades of brown and yellow.

I stamped over the top with some of the patterned stamps in the set and drew my own pattern with a Versamark pen on a few of the shapes.

I heat embossed with bright gold, rose gold and platinum powders.

I used a sentiment from the Wishing You set by Altenew and embossed that on to black card.  I then trimmed down my panel to fit a 4.25 x 5.5  black card base.

Hope you like it.  See you next week.
