Cheery chums

Hello and welcome.
My card today was intended to be a cute card for my son, but as I was making it, it became obvious this design was far to young for him and more suited to a child.  I shall therefore keep it for a future occasion.

I stamped a chick and bunny from the Altenew Bunny Love set, and coloured them with Copic markers.

I cut a circle from a piece of yellow card and traced the inside onto my card base. I then blended twisted citron and salty ocean distress oxides to cover the circle shape.  When I adhered the yellow piece over top, it showed a subtle landscape section through the window.

I cut and added three cloud shapes flat on the background, then used foam tape to affix the two characters.

I haven't yet decided if this will definitely be a birthday card or an Easter one.  Until I do the sentiment area remains blank!

How much is that doggy in the window?

Good morning all, I hope you are having a great week. I have another Furry Friends card for you today.

I used the same set from Creative Stamping magazine Issue 68, that I used for my kitty card the other day. This time I used one of the doggies, which I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and then coloured with Copic Markers.

I cut my furry friend out by hand and then sat him on some patterned paper from a First Edition 6 x 6 pad, called Sail Away.

I used a Britannia Opening Window die, and cut it from some more paper from the same pad. Then I also cut it from white heavyweight card and stuck this behind the patterned paper for strength.

I cut the panels down using a Stitched Rectangle die from an MFT Blueprints Dienamics set, and added it all to an orange note card. Then I added a sentiment from the same set and a couple of silver pearls to the door handles.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Purr-fect day

Good morning, I hope you are all having a good start to the week. Today's card was made using the Furry Friends stamp set from Issue 68 of Creative Stamping Magazine.

I started by stamping the chair, cats and string ball using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and then I coloured them with Copic Markers.

Once they were coloured I cut them out by hand, then decided to wrap the ball with fine embroidery thread. This one is a Silver Metallic colour and is made by Madeira, which we have had for years and doesn't seem to ever run out lol.

I used an MFT Dienamics Die to cut out a white panel, then I stuck my images on top using a wet glue.

The sentiment stamp is from the same set, I stamped it and then cut it out by hand so that I could shape it around the chair lol.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Tree plaque

Hello and thank you for visiting us today.

The idea behind this card is a plaque screwed to a tree but I'm not sure it quite pulls it off lol.

I tried a black ice technique I saw in the latest issue of Simply cards and Papercraft, however mine doesn't look like the ones in the magazine.  That's why I covered most of it with the sentiment area ;)

The 'tree' is made from Xcut adhesive metallic sheet and was run through the Gemini using a Tim Holtz and Sizzix woodgrain embossing folder.

I used two different die sets to create the sentiment and added some gold candy to the corners to look like rivets.

Butterfly Day

Hello again.  I'm back to finish the week with another card using the March 2018 Simon Says Stamp set.

I've really enjoyed playing with one of the older stamp sets and revisiting some of the ideas from Vicky P.

This one though is entirely my own.  I stamped two solid butterflies in a rose pink and added Nuvo glimmer paste in moonstone through the stencilled butterfly.

I stamped a sentiment from the kit on to a white panel, then added the butterflies.  There are no dies with this kit so they were cut by hand, which wasn't too difficult.

For some added colour I layered a piece of rainbow striped paper to my card base then added the panel on top with foam tape.

The finishing touches were some Nuvo Dream Drops in Supernova.
Hope you like it.

Butterfly trail

Hello again.

Today I have another of the ideas I 'borrowed' from the fabulous Vicky Papaioannou at Clips and Cuts.

This still uses the Simon Says Stamp card kit from March 2018, which I didn't use that much when it came out!

I stamped several of the images from the set using Memento black ink, and coloured with Copic markers. Once complete I fussy cut these images out.

For the base I took a piece of yellow paper and cut a circle towards the top, then added it my card with foam tape. Inside the circle I added a sentiment from the set.

I glued my images around the edge of the die cut window and added two solid butterflies to the leaves.

The finishing touch was some Nuvo crystal drops in Simply White.
Hope you like it.

Baby Boy Blue

Good morning all and happy Hump day, or Wednesday, whichever you prefer lol. I hope you are all having a good week.

Today's card is the 2nd of the new baby boy's cards that I needed in the space of a couple of weeks. So I went back to the same style as the first one that I made, and just changed it up a bit.

For this version, I used Altenew Inks from the Sweet Dreams set, and the Concord & 9th Hugs and Kisses Turnabout Stamp. When I had stamped the hearts, I used a Spellbinders Circle die to cut them out, and then added the circle to a Stitched Rectangle die cut, using craft foam for Dimension.

The little elephant was made with different tones of blue Alcohol Ink, onto Yupo Paper, with a bit of Silver Mixative. I used an MFT Stamps Die from the Wild Things set to cut him out, and used a Cut and Make die to cut the sentiment from the same piece of Yupo Paper.

I added the panel to a blue note card, and then used some Nuvo - Calming Aqua and Caribbean Ocean Crystal Drops with some Sea Breeze Jewel Drops to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Butterfly rainbow

Thank you for joining us today.

Over the weekend I was stuck for ideas to make for this week. I decided to find out an old stamp set and see if it sparked anything.

I took these ideas from the fabulous Vicky Papaioannou who makes some gorgeous cards. She blogs at Clips and Cuts.

I took the Simon Says Stamp set from March last year and recreated a couple of Vicky's card designs. This is the first.

I took the stencil from the set and using several rainbow shades of Distress Oxide, inked the butterflies on to a piece of white card.

Once dry I cut my panel down and added it to a yellow card base. I then took rainbow coloured Nuvo Jewel Drops to add some dimension.

I really liked following Vicky's tutorials and it has given me ideas for using some of our other stencils.

Having a Giraffe!

Good morning all, I hope you have had a great weekend, and managed to squeeze in some crafty time. We have been up to our ears in IKEA flat pack lol, but the craft room is starting to look a little more organised.

Today's card was made using an older stamp set from Creative Stamping Magazine - Issue 57 called Go Wild. I do seem to go back to this set whenever I am looking for inspiration for a man's card.

I started by stamping the giraffe with Toffee Versafine Ink, and then clear heat embossing over the top. Then I masked him off and stamped the scenery behind him using Vintage Sepia Versafine ink, and clear embossing powder.

I stamped a sentiment from the same set, and then added a few birds with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

Then I used an MFT Stamps, Stitched Rectangle Die to cut the panel out, and backed it with a piece of plain brown card. Then I added it to a Kraft note card to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Kick up your heels

Good morning all, and happy Friday. I hope you have had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Today's card was made using the February 2019 My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts. You may remember this card that I made a couple of weeks ago. Well I wanted to use the negative pieces from the die-cut background so I kept them and used them on today's card.

They were cut from the X-Cut Adhesive Metal Effect Sheets, and using the backing paper that I took off the original card as a stencil, I stuck them onto a deep teal background.

I stamped the image and sentiment from the set with Versamark ink, and then heat embossed them with Gold Fine Detail Embossing Powder, from Cosmic Shimmer.

Then I added a few gold sequins to finish it off.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.
