Peppa Pig

Good morning all, I hope you have had a good week. Are you looking forward to a nice crafty weekend? I know I am lol.

Today's card is one I made for my great niece who turned 3 last week. I decided to have a go at a Peppa Pig card, after seeing a couple of store bought ones.

I used my circle punches for the head, ears, and nose, and trimmed down a large punched circle for the skirt. I cut small strips of the pink card for the arms and legs, and very simple shapes from black card for the shoes.

Another small punch gave me the cheek, and I used enamel dots for her nose, and gave her googly eyes. I cut the mouth by punching a red circle, and then punching into the circle again with the same punch, to give me a small semi-circle, and then punched that again, to give me the very fine curve!

I used a Mama Elephant Stitched Border Trio die to cut the hillside, and then a First Edition cloud die for the top. I added these to an A2 notecard and then assembled Peppa on top.

I gave her a few balloons that I already had cut, and added her name using the Avery Elle, Modern Alpha dies. Then I stamped a simple sentiment from Clearly Besotted, and added a die cut 3 to finish.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Take flight

Welcome back.  My card today was made for my nephew Dan, who turns 27 today.
Happy birthday D!

For this card I used a stamp from Creative Stamping magazine.  I coloured the balloon with Copic markers and added highlights with a Gelly Roll pen in silver.  You can't see this in the picture as I took the photos before doing it - duh!

I created the background using a strip of black card, some paper from the stash and splashes of  Mister Huey's opaque white colour mist.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black card and added this and the balloon with foam for some dimension.

I liked this card so much I duplicated it for my son whose birthday is tomorrow, lol.

Spanish greetings

Good morning all, tomorrow my baby boy will be 27! I can not believe how quickly time really does pass lol. As he's headed to Germany for a few days with his beautiful wife, I have already given him his cards etc. so it's OK to share this one today.

I used the Hero Arts, April 2018 My Monthly Hero kit for the images. These were perfect for a card for D, as they have a Mexican/Spanish feel to me, and D has travelled to both Spain and Mexico a few times, and he speaks Spanish.

I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then coloured them with Copic Markers.

For the background, I cut a panel using a stitched rectangle die, and then softly blended some Distress Oxide inks, to give it a bit of a dessert look.

Then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set, which translates to Happy Birthday, and popped it on a dark orange card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Simply a Beautiful Day

Hello  and welcome.  Thank you for joining me today.

I have the simplest of cards to share with you, but OMG it's a stunner!
This gorgeous stamp is from Simon Says Stamps June card kit called Beautiful Day.

It is so big I made a DL sized card with it!
All I had to do was stamp on watercolour paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink, cut the panel to fit a DL card base, and add a black matt.

The sentiment is from the same set but I did a bit of masking on the open font word.  The full word is loved so I left off the D.

I can see me making many more of these for lots of different occasions.
Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx

Minnie Mouse Style Cards

Good morning all, I hope you have had a great weekend. I have two cards for you today, but as they are virtually identical two cards is a bit of a stretch lol.

I had seen a Minnie Mouse design card on Pinterest, and as I needed cards for a couple of little girls, I thought these would be perfect.

I altered the design to suit my stash, and as you can see I made small changes from the red card to the pink version. It's such a simple card, and looks great in the different colours.

I used my circle punches for the head and ears, and a bow die from a Blueprints Dienamics set. The red version was just matted on plain squares, but for the pink version, I used Lawn Fawn, Stitched Square dies.

I just used papers from the stash and reinforced the bow with a plain die cut behind the patterned paper. The stamp is one of our all time favourite birthday stamps. It's an old wooden stamp made by Funstamps, and it always stamps beautifully.

I added die cut numbers to the cards for the little girls ages, and then finished them off with a gem in the centre of the bow.

Hope you like them, take care and I'll see you soon.

The amigos three

Almost the weekend again and hopefully some time will be spent in the craft room.
Today's card is another made for Charlotte's birthday on Wednesday.

When I was thinking of a stamp set to use that was suitable for a 3 year old and had cuddly critters, this fabulous Mama Elephant set came to mind.  This is Three Amigos.

I used the MISTI to stamp the three characters using Versafine Onyx Black then embossed with WOW Ebony.  I added sentiments from the same set to the outer two images and number from Avery Elle's Fly By.  For this I used Hero Arts Fiesta Red, then I coloured the critters with Copic markers.

The niece sentiment is made with a die from Britannia Dies.  I cut three in a matching red card stock and stacked them for dimension.

To finish I added the panel to a piece of the same red card with a strip of silver glitter paper for some bling.

I really like this card and hope you do too.  Have a good weekend.  TTFN Jude xx

Dress Up On Your Birthday

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is the one I made for my beautiful granddaughter's 10th birthday last week.

I saw something similar on Pinterest, and adapted the design to suit my supplies. I started by designing the main text and clothes rail on the PC, and then printed it onto my smooth white card.

I made the dress using a heart punch cut piece of spotty card, and added a rectangle to the bottom, which I shaped slightly to look like leggings. Then I wrapped a piece of chiffon fabric around the middle, and added silver ribbon and a pink bow.

I fashioned a coat hanger from a pink paperclip, and then added a couple of pieces of the pink ribbon to the top of the dress and hooked them over the hanger. Then I added a couple of silver brads to hang the dress and bag on, before mounting the panel on to a pink card base with foam tape.

I used another punch to cut the bag from pink and black card, and then layered them slightly offset so it was more 3D. Then I added another sentiment, using Archival ink, and finished the card with a few pink and clear enamel dots.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Flamingo rainbow

Hello again.  Hope you are having a good week.
Today my youngest grand daughter, Charlotte, turns 3.  It hardly seems possible.  They grow up when you aren't watching!

I wanted to make her a fun card and this rainbow flock of flamingos does the trick lol.
I simply cut the flamingos from bright coloured card stock and added the die cuts to a card blank.

The sentiment was put together using stamps from Simon's Beautiful Flowers stamp set from the June card kit.

To make the sentiment for the inside I used another Simon stamp from the Crafty Friend set.  I really like this sentiment even if it is spelt incorrectly, lol.

Hope you like this bright and cheerful card as much as I do.

Today would also have been my gran's 97th birthday, so "happy birthday grandma!"

Otterly great Father’s Day

Good morning all, I do hope you are having a good start to the week. Today's card is one I made for Alan for Father's Day from our Grandson's. They were staying with us this weekend, so it was lovely for them to be with him for Father's day.

I used images from Issue 57 of Creative Stamping Magazine, teamed with sentiment stamps from Avery Elle and Altenew.

I stamped the otter, and sentiments first using Versamark and Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then heat embossed them with Simon Says Stamp, fine detail clear embossing powder.

Then I stamped the otter again on to a sticky note pad, and cut it out by hand to create a mask. I covered my first otter up with the mask and stamped the grassy beds behind him.

I used Zig Clean Colour Real Brush pens, along with a water brush to colour the otter, and then decided to leave the rest of the card plain. I was going to watercolour a background, but I liked the monochromatic look, so left it alone.

Then I just cut the panel down slightly and put it on to a light tan card blank.

Hope you like it, take care and I'll see you soon.

Bee-utiful

Hello.  Thank you for being here today.

Last week was Jen's granddaughter Lily's 10th birthday.  I made this card for my mum to send to her great-grand-daughter.  The sentiment is made using Altenew's Family Matters and the bees are from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine.

I had this paper in my stash and when I saw it I thought of honeycomb, which is what inspired me to add bees to the card.

To keep in with the theme some masking was employed to add this sentiment to the inside.  The word beautiful is from Simon's June card kit called Beautiful Flowers.

I have Jen to thank for adding the greeting.  She finished it for me while I was at work!  I think it worked out well and was complemented by the extra die cut bees.

Hope you like it.  TTFN Jude xx
